Making Christmas Cards Using Some Pinterest Inspiration

This month's Pinterest challenge was all about Christmas and I figured what better time to start on my Christmas cards?!  I almost always look for some inspiration on Pinterest when making any sort of card.  There are so many wonderful ideas there.

I just loved the fold used on this beautiful blue snowflake card and knew I could make some super cute cards mimicking the look.

I usually make around 45 cards and try to use a lot of supplies I already have on hand. I cut my cards and scored them at the fold line.  Clicking through to the website gave me actual measurements to go by and that enabled me to get my cards over 1/2 done in a single day!

Once I had my card bases cut and folded I turned to picking out patterned paper; trying to get two patterns to go together.  I ended up with a few different pairings and cut each of my patterned papers to size as well.

Then I used my tape runner to put all my patterned paper onto the cards.

Once my basic cards were assembled, I turned to stamping my focal image and interior message/image.

Then I added some ribbon/ embellishments.

Here are just a few of the completed looks I made:

In all I was able to make 48 card in 5 different varieties using all the supplies I had on hand and best of all it only took me two afternoons!

  2. Such a great assortment of cards! I may take inspiration from this to make some as well. Have so much patterned papers and rarely use any (although I've been trying more recently) and these cards are just perfect for it!
Loving the different than usual card fold!

  4. These cards are lovely! I really love the Christmas papers you used, and the stamps are so cute. I love the hat and mittens! Pinning! Now I want to make my own cards! I need to get a paper cutter though. I cannot cut in a straight line. lol I love the idea of making beautiful and unique cards for friends and family.

    1. Thank you so much! I find a paper cutter is a must with card making; I can't cut a straight line even if I draw it on the paper first. LOL.

    1. Thank you! I have been having so much fun playing around with "other" folds for cards lately. It's a nice break from the standard rectangle.
