What's Up Wednesday in June

June saw our state slowly opening things back up; while nothing is quite normal we are at least moving in the right direction!  It's the last Wednesday of the month already (how did that happen so fast?)  and time for another What's Up Wednesday post.
What We're Eating This Week: I actually haven't made up a menu as I found the last two week's worth of menus were being ignored.  I know we'll be eating lots of grilled foods and yummy fresh salads like these (click here for the recipes and a few others as well)

What I'm Reminiscing About: All our 4th of July celebrations at the lake!

What I'm Loving:  Eating breakfast out on the deck with my latest novel.

What We've Been Up To: Reading, Hiking, Swimming, Baking, Kayaking, Strawberry picking... all sorts of summer fun.

What I'm Dreading: Nothing! It's sunny and beautiful and we're enjoying spending so much time outside.

What I'm Working On: I ordered and put together some new patio funiture; now I'd love to tackle a garden re-do but need my husband's help for that as it involved trekking in stone and using some heavy equipment.

What I'm Excited About: I'm planning a little day trip for my birthday (or near my birthday anyway)!  I'm hoping to sneak in some sand, sun, and shopping!

What I'm Watching/Reading:

Watching: Dexter, Mom, America's Got Talent.. among many others.

Reading: My full list of books that I read this month will be on the blog this weekend but I am currently finishing up Table for 5 & Valentine.

What I'm listening to: The birds chirping in the trees.

What I'm Wearing:  Lots of tank tops, shorts, capri pants, sandals, and summer weight clothing.

What I'm Doing This Weekend: Probably more of the same-- reading, relaxing, enjoying the nice weather and watching the boys swim.

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month: Celebrating the 4th of July and my birthday.

What Else is New: Nothing that I can think of.

Linking Up With: Midweek link up

    1. Luckily we only have about an hour drive to either the moutains or the shore so a day trip isn't out of the question.

  6. Those salads all look so yummy. Nobody else in my family will eat salad, so I rarely make them for myself anymore either. I need to get back to it. They're perfect for lunches during the summer!

    1. I make them for myself for lunch; but my boys are great about eating a traditional tossed salad with their dinner.

  7. I just made plans to see two of my friends I haven't seen in years! We only live about 1 hour apart but with everyone's schedules it has been hard to catch up. So this is the summer for it!

  9. That's a GREAT breakfast view! And yes, menu planning has fallen apart here too. We're still trying not to grocery shop as often so every day it's a matter of "what do we have on hand?" which makes it hard to stick to a menu plan.

    1. I've been grocery shopping every week right along but we had a few weeks where we really stocked up and I'm trying to use up some of that to make room in our pantry and freezer before buying anything else other than fruits and fresh vegetables.
