Pattern Mixing Cards (For Father's Day)

We finally got around to making Father's day cards this year.  Alec started putting his card together and I really liked the way the patterns all looked mixed together on the card so I used his card as inspiration for my three!

As you can see I did try to stick to a basic color theme and since I tend to prefer simple cards I kept these pretty plain.

I always struggle to make cards for men and I think sticking to one color and a simple layout really helped me create something they'll each enjoy.

    These are so lovely! I think handmade cards are so much more special than shop bought ones.

    I too find masculine cards much harder to make. These turned out great, loving the mix of pattern papers! I really need to use up more of my pattern papers!

    You are so clever. I need to get my stamps back out and incorporate them in my scrapping. Or maybe make some note cards. I am sure the dads in your life will be very touched with your creativity. I am working on fabric wrapped balls for the 4th today.

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Prime Purchases in January & February

 We decided not to renew our Amazon Prime membership in December so I haven't been ordering nearly as much from Amazon these past two month. I do, however, wait until I have a large list so I can take advantage of free shipping. My intention had been to try and not buy anything from them this year but it seems like I'm still placing orders at least once or twice a month... mostly because I can't find the same stuff in stores locally.  A lot of these organic food choices are cheaper in bulk through amazon and since I am the only one that eats them, they should last me quite a long time!  If anyone has any suggestions on where else to look for cheaper organic products I've love some ideas! I did place an order with Vitacost, and looked into Azure (which doesn't have drop off locations near us). Currently in March 2025

It's the first Wednesday of the month and time for Currently with Jennifer. This month we'll be talking about the things we're currently loving, craving, pinning, planning, and appreciating Loving:  I have so many great things I'm loving this month. I am loving how Evan's room turned out (he picked such a great color!). I LOVED seeing the otters playing in the water/ice last week. Alec and I had the most fun grabbing dinner and seeing the show & Juliet in Providence (we even got comped better seats at the show since we arrived so early!). And of course I am loving having Alec home this week.  We hadn't made any reservations anywhere so we ended up at the counter for a coal fired pizza place; it was so neat watching them make the pizzas all night (and so delicious too!). The Books I Read in February& Share Your Shelf #11

Through this link up I've gotten lots of great ideas on what books to read next! This time of the year it's so hard to pick which prompt to fit each of the books I'm reading into the 52 Book Challenge since so many of them fit in multiple spots! But I love the ease of it.  I read lots of great book this month but I'm starting to wonder about myself... I read at least 3 books that I can think of off the top of my head this month where the cast of characters was large and by the end I was having a hard time remembering who was who. I mean I definitely followed along with the main storyline and enjoyed them but I do feel like I was missing some of the side stories and details.
