Weigh- In Wednesday: 5 Month Check In

I find it so hard to believe I've been following Weight Watchers for 5 months now.  I do have to say it is becoming so much easier to follow too.  I rarely feel the need to cheat and when I do I just let myself and get right back to healthy eating.

As of writing this post I am down another 3 lbs. this month.  I honestly expected that number to be a bit higher since I have even picked back up on our hiking and exercise but I know the closer I get to my goal the harder the weight is to get off.  I am only 17 lbs. away from my goal and I feel great!

I have been eating lots and lots of fresh fruits and veggies.  I also realized that English Muffins are only 4 points and make a great egg sandwich now with hard boiled eggs, English muffins, and fat free cheese shreds.

This whole plate of food is just 4 points!

Somehow it tastes even better out on the deck, in the sunshine, reading and relaxing.

I still eat mostly salads for lunch and keep on trying new combinations.  One of my favorites this month was a few bacon slices crumbled and mixed with fresh blueberries and fat free feta cheese with my favorite zero point Skinny Girl Poppyseed dressing.

This whole salad was just 3 points (for the bacon)

In case you missed it I shared this family favorite dinner recipe on the blog yesterday.  We stumbled upon this recipe my first week on Weight Watchers and my boys actually ASK me to make it!  I often pair it with either a salad or some roasted vegetables for a filling meal.

We've also been eating lots of wrap sandwiches with corn on the cob and butternut squash fries.  They are so easy to make (well, cutting them can be a little tricky but with practice I have it down now) and taste delicious.

Shown here with unsloppy joes this whole dinner is just 6 points add corn, salad, or broccoli for a well- rounded meal

While I may not have dropped that many pounds this month I'm already starting to notice that many of the shorts, capri's, and jeans I bought on my birthday shopping trip last month are already starting to feel a bit baggy.  I know I need to start buying some fall clothes but keep holding off since I just don't know what size I'll be!

The last time I fit into these jeans...

Was for this family photo!

August hasn't been nearly as muggy and we had quite a few mornings and days where it felt almost like fall already.  I'm sad to see summer ending but the cooler weather has prompted us to get back to hiking and exercising regularly.  In just the past two weeks alone we've gone on a family bike ride, hiked Mount Wachusett, around Wallum Lake, and checked out a few new hiking trails.

    1. I'll keep up with yours as well! Thank you. I think the biggest help has been that my husband has joined right along with me and he's lost so much weight that we keep spurring each other on.

  3. Wow, I can't believe you kept those jeans for so long! I wish I still had things from before I gained the weight. Although buying all new is fun too. The breakfast and lunch you shared both look great!

    1. Those are the ONLY 2 pairs of pants I kept (2 pairs of identical jeans)... though now that I am down to this size again I can't help thinking of some favorite bottoms and tops I wished I had kept. But through the years I tossed more and more each time I went through the closet. I like buying new but with both my husband dropping so much we both need just about EVERYTHING! LOL. It's a problem I love to have though.

    1. It reminds me of the poppyseed dressing that Panera bread uses and yet on WW it's zero points!
