Our Day at Canobie Lake Park

We had such a fun day at Canobie Lake Park on Thursday.

We had planned to stay home and get some schoolwork done but my sister asked if we wanted to join her and spend a day at the amusement park so we quickly packed everything away, got dressed and headed outside to wait for her and her boys to show up.

By 10 I realized I had somehow made a mistake... turns out she wanted to meet up to go to Canobie on Friday NOT Thursday!  With Ian's doctor's appointment on Friday we could not meet up with them to go.

We were so bummed buy my boys had been looking so forward to going that I could not disappoint them.... so we headed the park on our own.



We had a great time but it was hot, crowded, and we hit TONS of traffic driving both ways.  On the bright side we got to listen to lots of our Heroes of Olympus book.  We rode all the rides we wanted and cooled off with lots of ice cold beverages and ice cream!

A women we met in the parking lot offered us come coupons and helped us save $20 on admission!

We try to get to Canobie each summer.  It's our favorite amusement park. It's always so clean, the staff is so friendly, it's situated on a pretty lake and usually has a really nice breeze to help keep us cool enough to enjoy the park.

I highly recommend it to everyone; it's the perfect family park!

The rides are fun without being so extreme that only Ian can ride.... It's small enough to easily cover in a day... It's priced just right too!

Alec just discovered roller coasters and more extreme rides last year; his favorite is Untamed and he made
me ride it with him.  It was so much fun!

Evan was thrilled to be tall enough to drive this year!  He tried a few new rides that he's
been waiting for... like the Starblaster! 

It took an awful lot of work to get up on that horse one handed but we always end our day on the carousel

    This sounds like so much fun. Generally amusement parks means big crowds and scary rides. But this one seems not too big not too small - just right like Goldilocks :-). Loved the happy pictures. #mg

 Happy April Fool's day to you! It's the first Monday of the month and time for Prime Purchases with Tanya.  I was doing so well with my Amazon purchases right up until the end of the month when we decided to host Easter dinner at our house and I felt like I "needed" so much not having any Easter decorations at all.  I bought a few new cardigans for this "in between" season and really love this cable knit one so much it's all I can do to keep myself from buying a second one! Alec's Accepted Student Day at JWU

Last spring when Alec started his college planning I was pretty surprised that he only wanted to visit 2 colleges out of state (he visited a few in-state with his high school culinary class).  He ultimately decided to apply to just the 2 colleges we visited-- Johnson and Wales University (JWU) and the Culinary Institute of America (CIA). Both ranked as the #1 & #2 schools in the U.S for culinary and baking/pastry arts. Day in the Life: Friday Favorites

 I decided to document last Friday for today's Friday Favorites post. I hardly ever document a day in the life anymore now that my boys are grown and mostly on their own. But I knew we had a pretty full day and thought it might be fun.  These are some of my favorite posts to read and I think I did a pretty great job remembering to document and take pictures for the whole day! 5:00 wake up and I allow myself to blog, read emails, etc. until 5:30 5:30 get up, get dressed for the gym, put away my laundry from the night before, make the bed. 5:45 head downstairs to make Alec's lunch (1/2 way though he came to the balcony to tell me he wasn't going to school since he wasn't feeling well-- he's 18 and allowed to make this call himself).  I decided to make a salad, some chicken salad, hard boil some eggs, and cut up all the fruit since we had just done groceries after dinner last night and none of that had been done yet. I emptied, reloaded, and restarted the dishwasher.
