My Summer Reads

This weekend I stumbled upon another book list/ challenge for reading (something I JUST LOVE!).

In reading this post (that was all about books taking place on an island) I was inspired to look through books and find some new reading material just for me to enjoy this summer.

I love reading; I almost always have a book tucked into my purse or in my car just in case.... just in case I get a spare moment to wait I'll read.  Just in case I am unexpectedly alone I have "company."  You know... just in case.

Anyhow as much as I love to read there is just something about summer that calls out to me to find new books.  Often I'll read about seaside towns, island trips, and always about relationships.  I love novels about finding love, mending fences between family members, making those new best friends that feel like family or keeping those "sister" bonds going.

I have so many old favorite novels that often it's hard for me to just jump in and start reading something new.  I often find I gravitate towards series for that exact reason; I know the characters I'l be reading about and they often just cement those bonds further.

This year I vowed to branch out and try some new books... but I do enjoy reading books that remind me of summer; seaside towns, simple pleasures, warm weather...

Here are some of the books I hope to read this summer:

The Island House by Nancy Thayer

Here's to Us by Elin Hilderbrand

Two by Two-- Nicholas Sparks

House Rules by Jodi Picoult

Body Surfing by Anita Shreve

A Second Chance by Bryan Mooney

I can't wait to get to the library!

    1. I just checked three of them out of the library today. I'll have to update the list once I've read them with a mini review of each.
