Share 4 Somethings: September 2026
Tomorrow is the last Saturday of the month and time for Share 4 Somethings with Jenn. This year we're sharing something we loved, something that sustained us, something we're carrying forward, and something we're making space for each month.
Something I loved: Beautiful hikes and fabulous views.
More specifically hiking Wachusett mountain on Labor day with my husband and Evan.
Hiking and catching up with my friend last Friday. Now that our homeschool boys have graduated we're still making time to see each other at least once a month and I love that.
Getting to meet a few of Evan's new friends when I took them to the movies.
The whole family eating dinner together one last time before my mom and step-father leave for home.
I actually feel like I got to talk to or spend a lot of time with all 3 boys individually this month and that's not something I take for granted now that the younger 2 are off at college and Ian is busy building up his business.
It hasn't happened yet and I'll share more next week I'm sure but I already know I am going to love heading to Foxwoods tonight to see Steve Martin and Martin Short, we've got a hotel room to stay the night and dinner reservations at Hell's Kitchen so it should be a night to remember. My husband even took today off!
Something that sustained me: Fresh foods from Alec's garden. We're still harvesting tomatoes every other day or so, parsley, basil, sage, and pea/pea pods.
Something I'm carrying forward: Making time for art and creative projects of all kinds. This month I did some painting, worked on some dot art, made cards and scrapbook pages, and even put a few sticker by number pages together. Most of the time it's very relaxing to just create and let my mind wander.
Something I'm making space for: By this point in the year I am making room in my closet for fall clothes; packing away the summer stuff always makes me a bit sad but I do so love my sweater collection! I've also started making space in the basement for all the patio/deck furniture as it's time to start packing that away as well.
Sounds like a fun plan tonight and into tomorrow! I'll bet the weather has been great for hikes. I hope you have a nice long season before it gets really cold.

DeleteYour hike pics are so pretty. No packing away summer clothes here yet. I'm headed to the mountains this weekend and had to remind myself I'll need sweatshirts not t-shirts but yay! I'm ready for fall clothes. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I can't pack them all away as it is supposed to be near 80 again at the end of this coming week but it's only in the 50's today... so this is the time of year I tend to have a bit of all seasons out and the closet is a bit messy.

We really did! It was fabulous and I was not ready to come home and tackle things like laundry, cooking, and cleaning just yet. I felt so pampered these past 24 hours.

ReplyDeleteThey were so funny and energetic! I don't know how they do it in their 70's & 80's singing and dancing and putting on a show for 2 hours straight!

You see so many neat things on your hikes. I really like the very first image the most. That’s great you are keeping in touch with your homeschooling friend. Being with the whole family is priceless.
