Talking About it Tuesdays #134
I can't believe it's already college drop off time; by this time next week we'll be down two boys! I'm nervous and excited and anxious and am waiting with anticipation to see how Evan adjusts (Alec, however would have been happy to go back weeks ago, I'm sure, as he just loves school and can't wait to see all his friends again). Today will be spent doing some more packing.
We had a lovely party last week with lots of participation and a wide variety of topics. I hope this week's is more of the same.

This party will remain open until the weekend. My hope is that everyone will share all sorts of wonderful posts: travel, recipes, how to's, crafting ideas, and more-- up to 3 posts per blog. Anything that is family friendly is welcome; even old posts that you'd like to get some new views.

I hope packing and then move in goes well. It's both a stressful and an exciting time, I feel like. Lots of emotions! Thanks for the link up!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteGood luck with the moving! We just helped move our son and his girlfriend into their new place. It was exhausting!
ReplyDeleteIt is exhausting! Particularly in the heat when there is no air conditioning to cool off with.
DeleteThank you for the party!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteAhhhh... it will be a big change this week. Can you take a bit of a break from cooking? Lol! I hope Evan loves it. It will take him some adjustment time, but I hope he feels at home and loves it as much as Alec does.
ReplyDeleteWell I did tell my husband that we're having a date night Saturday so I'll get that night off... but that's probably it. I'll definitely have to start cooking less.
DeleteIt's such a strang time when you're anticipating the college drop and kind of counting the days with equal parts dread and excitment. I hope they both do well and move in days go smoothly. Thank you for the feature!
ReplyDeleteYes, that describes exactly how I feel-- equal parts dread and excitement.
DeleteGood luck with the moving that awaits! I'm sure you are organized and ready but you can't always plan for the emotions that come with it all. It's a huge transition in home life, too. I'll be thinking of you - and all the college mamas out there!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, we are quite organized on our end.
DeleteJoanne,
ReplyDeleteHard to believe that kids are going back to school and college already!! Thanks so much for your visits!!

I know! I feel like I was just picking Alec up for the summer. It really flew by this year (probably because he was gone so much).
DeleteDear Joanne, I think Evan will love it too if the two are not very different in their character. Have a good time and all the best
ReplyDeleteVioletta
Oh they could not be more different-- Alec is my ultimate extrovert who pretty much never has any real fear of anything (that we can tell) while Evan has social anxiety and just anxiety in general.. but I still think Evan found the right school for him and will adjust well eventually.
DeleteGood morning. Thanks for the link-up. I'm still always surprised when school starts up in August. I hope your boys have great years! I saw the link up at Joyce's blog (From This Side of the Pond) and decided to play.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I am so glad you joined us.
DeleteSo many mixed emotions with the emptying out of the house!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteHappy new school year to all your boys, espcially Evan, as he begins his college years!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh my, it seems like it just ended for the year! Have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWow, I feel like summer just started and now it's drop off time! I hope both boys (and mom) have a great year and drop off goes smoothly!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks. I just hope we have nice weather.. it's looking pretty iffy...
DeleteMorning, Joanne, thank you for a lovely party
ReplyDeleteAll the best with the packing and that the boys will have loads of fun and a good year ahead.

You're welcome!
DeleteStay busy! I experienced the empty nest syndrome hard. My lack of interests outside of the kids was my fault. Keep your friends close and interests closer. And keep busy! That can not be said enough. Eventually I got used to the quiet house.
ReplyDeleteHope packing and moving goes swift and smooth.
All the best.

Thank you so much!
DeleteHere's to a smooth move - for everyone!
ReplyDeleteThank you!

DeleteMy son still doesn't have any classes : hopefully when the wait-lists open up on Friday, there are spaces for him (he is on the wait-list for 4 classes). He does have the options to take some mechanical engineering classes which would hopefully still have openings by then... need prayers!

OH my goodness; that's awful! I hope he gets the classes he needs/wants!
