How I Did on my Spring Bucket List & My Summer Bucket List

This weekend marks the official start of summer and before I share my summer bucket list I want to look back at how I did with my spring bucket list. Today I'm joining in with my fellow bucket list bloggers and I hope you'll join us linking up any bucket list/goals with us.

First a look back at my Spring Bucket List:

1. Go on blogging ladies trip--Check! We went to Asheville and met another blogger, Joyce.

2. Move Alec back home from college--Check!

3. Go to Utah to visit several national parks-- Check!

4. Practice using my calligraphy pen/ink set at least once a month-- Nope! I realized that I'm not motivated to do this because I never used my calligraphy pen and ink set to actually do calligraphy. I used to use my pen for drawing so I've started looking up some drawing inspiration ideas and may give this a go soon.

5. Head to Acadia with my husband to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary-- check!

6.  Go on lots of lovely hikes! A BIG Ol' Check! -- We had so many lovely hikes between the 6 national parks we visited this spring and the assorted state parks we visited.

Canyonlands

arches national park

capitol reef

Bryce Canyon

Zion

Acadia

7.  Celebrate Ian's 22nd birthday-- Check!

8. Go kayaking!--Nope, but I'll move to this summer's list and hope for better weather/days.

9. Read on the back deck or patio--Check!

10. Go see Lion King at the PPAC with Alec--Check!

11. Paint at least 2 more paintings--Check!

12. Go to a museum-- Nope!

13. Eat breakfast &/or lunch outside-- Check!

can't beat that view!

14. Visit some local small businesses -- Check! Took the boys to The Courthouse Bar & Grill, visited Wonderland Comics, etc.

15. Try some new recipes--Check!

air fryer chicken with honey garlic sauce

homemade English Muffins

homemade orange chicken

* One late entry I forgot to put on my original list was celebrate Evan's high school graduation!!*--Check!   We had the grandparents over for a little pizza party and I gave him his diploma and gift and made some grad cap cupcakes with Rolo & Ghiradelli candies.

My summer list:

1. See Alec off to Greece!

2. Celebrate my birthday

3. Celebrate 4th of July

4.  Go kayaking

5. Draw SOMETHING with pen/ink set

6. Scrapbook all or part of Asheville, Utah, & Acadia trips

7. Paint some new acrylic paintings

8. Play some cornhole

9. Get BOTH boys settled at college

10. Pick berries/make jam

11. Paint a few more watercolor paintings

    1. I think summer will be much more quiet and low key with lots of reading and porch days but I'm not complaining about that.

    1. Yep, lots of new hikes for sure! I'm not sure we've ever had a season with so much new hiking in it before.

  10. You absolutely crushed that spring list, and honestly, managing to hit six national parks plus Acadia for a 25th anniversary is legendary status for one season. Skipping the calligraphy pen to pivot toward drawing makes total sense if the motivation wasn't there, and those graduation cupcakes with the Rolos and Ghirardelli squares look incredibly clever

  14. Maybe once you start drawing, you'll slip into the calligraphy. If not, drawing is wonderful. Love all the travel photos -- it's been a very busy season. Well done on your list!

  21. Great job on your spring list. Can't wait to see your scrapbook pages from your trip out west. I am working on a trip to Colorado we took last year. You got lots of great hiking in. And at least a couple of fun celebrations. Love the cupcakes. I never think to make cupcakes. My kids grew up cupcake and Jello deprived because I never made it either.
Will get my summer list put together and posted tomorrow. Thank you for the link up!!

    1. I rarely think to make cupcakes but I knew we were going to be outside and I didn't want to have to deal with cutting and serving cake.

  22. You did lunch and breakfast outside, but do you also eat dinner outside? At home I mean. Kayaking on that beautiful lake would be so great! Thanks for hosting the party!

    1. We rarely eat dinner outside just because it requires a whole lot more effort and our only outdoor table is downstairs. Whereas breakfast and lunch I tend to eat on the deck that is right off the kitchen and just plop myself in a chair.
