A Late Spring Day in the Life
I picked last Thursday, June 11th to document my DITL post. I thought it was going to be a pretty lazy, low key day with only "clean the basement" "pick strawberries" and "bake Evan's cupcakes" on my to do list but it ended up being a really busy day.
I was up at 4:45 and laid in bed finishing up my latest novel. Then I got up and got dressed. By 6:00, I was ready for the day and sat down to do a bit of blogging.
6:30 I did some laundry and pulled out food for dinner before starting to make my BBQ macaroni salad. Then wrote up my grocery list.
7:00-7:30 I ate breakfast and read my next book.
7:30-8:30 I brushed my teeth, switched the laundry and started load 2 of the day before rearranging the basement room and cleaning the whole thing top to bottom.
8:30 Sat back down to read until Alec was ready to go strawberry picking.
9-10:30 strawberry picking with Alec.
10:30-11:30 more laundry, started the dishwasher, watered the lawn where we planted new grass seed, then started making Evan's graduation cupcakes.
11:30-12:00-- baked the cupcakes and taught Alec how to make copies with our printer (so he could copy his license and passport for his trip)
12:00-1:30 went grocery shopping with Alec.
1:30-2:30 put away the groceries, made a giant salad to last a few days, cut up fruit for 1/2 the week. Started the dishwasher for the second time. Switched the laundry around one final time.
2:45-- ate a late lunch/snack to hold me over until dinner.
3:00-- double checked Alec's packing and helped him find a few last minute pieces he was looking for.
3:30-5:00-- went next door to my parents camper and visited with them.
5:30 set the table, cooked dinner, kept my husband company while he grilled.
6:00-6:30 ate dinner
6:30-7:00 watched TV with the family
7:00-8:00 joined Evan for a zoom orientation information session for his college (though we didn't really learn anything new as it reiterated a lot of what was said at both open house and accepted student day).
8:00-9:00 watched TV and did a bit of blogging (mostly writing this post!).

Fun post to read! Curious minds want to know how others spend their time, lol!! I am really impressed with how spotless your muffin pan is after you poured the batter in. My pan is always smeared with batter and does not look pristine. The strawberries look great! YUM!!
ReplyDeleteI use a cupcake scoop to perfectly portion out my cupcakes/muffins. It's something Alec got me in the habit of doing.
DeleteIt was! I enjoy seeing these! You did have a really busy day. I was impressed by how fast you cleaned the basement. The strawberries look so good! What did you think of Mile High Club - I DNF'ed it but had read about 3/4 of it.
ReplyDeleteI loved it! I read it in just over 24 hours and already requested book 2.
Deletesounds like a good day!
ReplyDeleteIt was!
DeleteIt sounds like a really busy but good day! That BBQ macaroni salad looks good! How great to go strawberry picking, they always taste better freshly picked!
ReplyDeleteThey sure do!
DeleteIsn't it amazing how many tasks we just take for granted because we do them all the time but when we write them down it all adds up to rather full days? I have been known to add things to my list after the fact that took up a substantial amount of time just so I can check them off ;-) Thanks for sharing your day!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I had not planned on grocery shopping but Alec asked to go with me and we both had free time so I figured why not?
