Talking About it Tuesday #113
What is that saying? "Man plans, God Laughs"? We did not get to eat a corned beef dinner last week... by noon on Tuesday we had lost power (mid-way through boiling up my corned beef) along with the over 30,000 other customers in our state that were without power. We had gotten tons of rain and high winds Monday into Tuesday but I thought we were in the clear as far as power goes when the day dawned bright and sunny and we still had ours. But alas it was not to be. As of 3 o'clock in the afternoon our outage map looked like this:
Hopefully this week will be much smoother. I can't wait to see what you all have to share.

This party will remain open until the weekend. My hope is that everyone will share all sorts of wonderful posts: travel, recipes, how to's, crafting ideas, and more-- up to 3 posts per blog. Anything that is family friendly is welcome; even old posts that you'd like to get some new views.

Thank you so much for featuring the birthday card I made for Julie. I am happy it caught your eye :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you were without power for two days. That is not fun! Hopefully your house stayed warm. Thanks for the link up!
ReplyDeleteUgh - you went 2 whole days! That's horrible! I was shocked to see that awful photo of me! Why did I post that? Ha! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThat power outage was a doozy! Sorry it spoiled your dinner. Do you have a generator? We have a small portable we can keep a frig and freezer running with and charge devices, but we are getting quotes now on a whole house generator.
ReplyDeleteHello sister power out-ager! What a month we've had!
ReplyDeleteYikes! There's nothing as annoying as a power outage. I hope you have a less eventful week! Thank you for hosting!

We had a deep freeze, which so out of the ordinary for Texas. Hearing about your storm does not surprise me, as my husband usually takes a look at all storm activity and what is headed our way. Sorry for the power outage, they always add an element of stress to everything else going one.
ReplyDeleteWow! You guys sure have been hit with the spring storms lately. I love spring, but not the storms or the flooding that usually come with it. Thanks for the party.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for including my Shrimp Rolls this week. I hope you have a lovely week ahead.
ReplyDeleteOh boy! I hope you guys kept warm. Thanks so much for hosting and warm hospitality each week. I'm sitting at #29, 30 & 31 this week.
ReplyDeleteSending warm wishes for a great week ahead.
Oh wow--what an ordeal. I guess the corned beef was a loss. I've gotten so dependent on both electricity and the Internet, I really hate when the power goes out. My husband has a lot of camping equipment, like a little camp stove that runs on butane, so we'd be able to eat without power. But heat and AC and everything else is a problem. Glad everything is back to normal now!
ReplyDeleteHope you have recovered from the power outage, Joanne. That is never fun. Appreciate you hosting the party every week and I love reading about your homeschool adventures. Brings back memories.
