How I Did with My Winter Bucket List and Sharing my Spring Bucket List

Today is the official start of spring and this week the Quarterly Bucket List Bloggers and I are once again hosting a link up for goals/lists/resolutions/etc. that we'd like to tackle this spring.

I'll share my spring bucket list but first let's take a quick look back on how I did with my winter list. I had no idea just how cold and snowy this winter was going to be when I made up our list but I am so thankful that I did! The list helped me focus on some fun things while often feeling like I was trapped inside.

How I did with my winter bucket list:

1. Celebrate Christmas with the family--Check!

2. Enjoy my husband's executive Christmas party at Via--Check! It was delicious and oh so fun to visit with everyone.

The only photos I even thought to take were of my food; kicking myself for not getting a photo of my husband and I

3.Check out some Christmas lights-- Check? I did see some while we were out and about but we never went out specifically to see the lights.

4.Celebrate Alec's 20th birthday-- check!

5.Try to squeeze in at least 3 date nights-- Nope! We only managed 2

In January we went to Cedar's steakhouse, February we just could not get the weather to work in our favor, but we went out the first weekend in March to Patriot Place and had a delicious dinner.

6.Celebrate Valentine's day -- Check! I made cards, bought gifts for the guys, and made up a try of no bake peanut butter bars.

7. Go on some winter hikes or snowshoe hikes --Check!

8. Read by the fire --Check!

9.Go see Wicked with Alec-- Check!

10.Try at least 2 new card making techniques --Check! I learned letterpressing and painter's tape technique.

11.Take Evan to North Carolina one last time before he starts college--check! We planned a 3 night 4 day trip and got stuck there for a week.

12.Practice using my calligraphy pen/ink set at least once a month! -- Nope, I forgot all about this one so I'll move it to next season.

13.Use my photo ball to take photos-- Nope, I didn't remember this one either.

14.Paint at least 2 more paintings-- check!

15.Work on at least 1 watercolor project -- Check!

  12. I usually only do a summer bucket list, but I was intentional about planning some winter family stuff (last winter, since I'm just going to say it is spring!) and it really helped us to get out and do more! You are so lucky to have a fun blogging girls trip! Enjoy!

  13. Squeezing in 2 date nights is still ahead of the game for most couples, so congratulations. :) You have such beautiful snow photos. We actually got an inch of snow ourselves on Monday in Alabama, but it all melted within an hour. I see that Wicked for Good is now streaming on Peacock so I look forward to seeing it soon. Right now our TV only gets March Madness basketball games. ;)

    1. I can not wait for our Utah trip; though I am curious how it will work this year since it seems like most of the National parks are doing away with the timed entry reservations.

  24. First let me say I love your art work. Aren't snow-covered trees just beautiful? And fun to paint. Hope you are displaying your art around the house or sharing with others. And your cards are always works of art, too. Love the peacock feathers!! Absolutely love the photo you took of the snowy forest. LOVE me some snow.
What kind of snow shoes do you wear? We looked at buying the metal things you attach to your hiking boots but my daughter used them with little luck so we have just stuck with hiking boots.
The set from Wicked looks amazing. I am sure that was 'core-memory-making' experience. My daughter keeps referring to making core memories for her son/my grandson.
You know I love seeing pics of your outdoor breakfasts and books. Looking forward to seeing those this spring and pictures of your hikes and art. Share any recipes you try and like. I am so sick of cooking. Hope the bloggers weekend is a fabulous time.

    1. Aw, thank you! I have older paintings framed and hung around the house but none of the new ones I've been painting these last couple of years have made it out of my painting room yet. I have these snowshoes-- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076VV7DW5?th=1. We tried a few pairs on at a local Audubon place and learned what features we wanted before buying.
