Cards I Made in March

 March was a rather slow month creatively. I didn't work on any scrapbooking pages and I only made a handful of cards; mostly because I got a few new products in I wanted to try.

      It is a 3-d embossing folder that came with a matching stencil to add colors to the tulips after (or before) pressing so it's a really neat effect.

      Yes, they are made from both a 3-D embossing folder and a stencil (well, not the all white one).

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. 15 Family Restaurant Games

When my boys were little and we'd take them out to eat I kept a small bag of toys in the car to grab on our way into any restaurant.  That way they would be entertained and a bit quieter while we enjoyed our meal. Now that the boys are older we don't keep a bag of toys handy but we do have few games we use to keep the boys occupied if they start getting bored or squirmy while we're waiting for our food or our check. While there are many phone apps, portable gaming systems and electronic games that could occupy my kids we prefer to use the time together at restaurants to connect with one another and so we tend to play games like: Hangman--   any restaurant that has paper place mats works well for this.  We take turns picking  a word and drawing our hangman stand then take turns calling out letters and seeing if we can solve the puzzle.   Tic Tac Toe-- This works best with pen on paper place mats but we have played making a grid with butter knives ...

Share 4 Somethings in March 2026

Tomorrow is the last Saturday of the month and time for Share 4 Somethings with Jenn. This year we're sharing something we loved, something that sustained us, something we're carrying forward, and something we're making space for each month.   Something I loved:  My husband and I had a really fabulous and delicious date night this month. We went to D' Avios Italian Steakhouse and Cupcake Charlie's.  a cupcake whirlie; they swirl a cupcake into soft served ice cream Alec and I LOVED Wicked! We actually had a really fabulous night with delicious pizza beforehand at a place that was voted Providence's Best Pizza (and we agreed!).     We loved our time at Clark university's accepted student day-- and the delicious lunch we had at the nearby Peppercorn's restaurant. What's Up Wednesday: March 2026

Can you believe it's the last Wednesday of the month and time to link up with Shay and Sheaffer for What's Up Wednesday?  I feel like this month flew by. We have had a great month with just a hint of spring here and there. What We're Eating: Sunday:   My 3 meat sauce with spaghetti, garlic bread, and salad.   Monday: Homemade shepherd's pie with salad Tuesday:  Baked ham, egg noodles, corn & salad Wednesday: Chicken Caesar salad wraps with fries and salad Thursday:  Turkey stuffed peppers w/salad Friday:  Steak & Shrimp stir-fry over rice What I'm Reminiscing About:  We went to Evan's accepted student day and it's just baffling to me that this little guy, my youngest, is heading off to college in the fall.    What I'm Loving:  Wicked was SOO good! Talking About it Tuesday #113

What is that saying? "Man plans, God Laughs"? We did not get to eat a corned beef dinner last week... by noon on Tuesday we had lost power (mid-way through boiling up my corned beef) along with the over 30,000 other customers in our state that were without power. We had gotten tons of rain and high winds Monday into Tuesday but I thought we were in the clear as far as power goes when the day dawned bright and sunny and we still had ours. But alas it was not to be. As of 3 o'clock in the afternoon our outage map looked like this:   Each of those dots represents an area and the number inside represents the different repair jobs needed; not the total number of customers. Trees and wires were down everywhere and lots of roads were closed. I think the poor trees just could not hold up to the wind with the ground being so saturated. Our lakes and rivers are at capacity between the rain and all the snow melt. Luckily our power was restored late Wednesday night. But not having po...
