Talking About It Tuesdays #89

We had another lovely weekend. We celebrated Evan's 18th birthday with the grandparents. We had a delicious meal and a great time visiting. My mom and step-father are leaving for North Carolina in just another week or so and I can not believe how fast this summer with them went. On the agenda this week Evan and I want to get his own checking account open and get him registered to vote and all those big adulting tasks. 

 We had a fun and fabulous link up last week. I saw so many yummy fall treats I want to add to our baking list! I have a few new outfit ideas to try out too... just as soon as our weather cools off enough.

      I'm trying a few pairs this fall and I'm not 100% sold on them either. They're quite comfy but I don't know if I like how I look in them.

    My son will be 19 in another month and we are doing all the big stuff too. He finally got his permit and he has a checking but needs to call them so he can get his debit card aaaand hopefully a job will be next. Glad you all had a good time, family time too. Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Prime Purchases in September

 It's the first Monday of the month and time for Prime Purchases. I caved in to an offer for a free trial of Amazon Prime at the end of August that allowed me to order a hiking skirt and have it come in in time to for our trip to Montana. Unfortunately, having that free shipping seems to have enticed me to order more... But my free trial is over and hopefully my ordering will tamper off. Though with Christmas coming up that might not be a possibility plus I've already placed 2 orders in October! Meanwhile check out all the stuff I bought last month.   Clothing: First up is the hiking skirt I ordered for our trip. I love it... but I didn't get a chance to wear it. Mornings were much too cool for a skirt even though afternoons were downright hot.  I also ordered another kimono ...  Hey, look at me finally remembering to write up a Hodgepodge Wednesday post! This week Joyce came up with some fun questions to answer.   1. March 15th is known as The Ides of March, the date on which Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 B.C....have you ever been to Rome? If so what did you love most about the city? Share Your Shelf # 18 & Books I Read in September

 It's the first Thursday of the month and time for Share Your Shelf with  Marilyn,   Jennifer,   Tanya,  and I. This post and link up are dedicated solely to books and book reviews and it's one I look so forward to each and every month. I am always looking for new and more book ideas. I thought I was going to have such a long list of books to share with our long plane rides but I hardly read at all on vacation. I did manage to read 10 books this month and quite a variety of them at that. I also finished my 52 Books Challenge completely.    1. My Next Breath by Jeremy Renner-- I feel like I live in a cave sometimes. I had no idea that Jeremy Renner had a near death accident with a snowcat years ago and underwent many surgeries and extensive rehab.
