Cards & Scrapbook Pages I Made in September 2025

I honestly thought I was going to have yet another month without any cards or scrapbook pages but in the last week or two inspiration hit and I've made a couple of birthday cards.

For Evan's 18th birthday I tried a new pop up/fun fold card and I just love how it turned out! 

I also tried out a new "smoosh" stamping technique that was a lot of fun. 

This card looks a bit better in person since I rubbed an illuminate pad over the whole thing and all the ferns have just a touch of sparkle to them. 

 I played around with some glitter this month too. I rarely think to use any but I have a whole drawer full of all sorts of colors. 

I finally scrapbooked our Acadia trip from June!

I don't love the pages for mine and my husband's scrapbook. I think the it's just a bit too plain but until I can figure out how to jazz it up a bit I'll set it aside and work on some other projects... just as soon as I order another batch of photos.

    I don't think the pages look plain but it's definitely up to you since they're yours!! The cards are so good! I love the pumpkin one and Ian's birthday card. So clever and creative!

    I ove gitter but it does get everywhere! Sorry my character between K and M doesn't work. You made some good stuff this month!

      It's funny but I have had zero problems reading your blog or your comments even with the L missing. My mind just fills it in automatically I guess.

    I love the pop up card! My hubs cringes when he sees glitter but i love it on a card. When I taught little ones I'd make them use the glitter over a dish pan to help with the clean up : ) Have a great week!

      Aw, thank you! I love little touches of glitter too. I have a set of trays that you can use glitter over and they have a little spout so the excess can go right back into the bottle.

    I like the pop up cards, especially the ones with some little attached envelopes to put birthday cash in. With inflation and job scarcity, cash is always the preferrable gift for most folks.

      Thank you! I watched a Youtube tutorial for how to put the basic card base together and that helped make it pretty easy.

    Oh wow, I'm totally impressed! I'm not very handy myself, and I love how you made the card pop-out. I can relate to sometimes having to wait until inspiration surfaces. For me having some quiet time often gets my creative juices flowing.

When my boys were little and we'd take them out to eat I kept a small bag of toys in the car to grab on our way into any restaurant.  That way they would be entertained and a bit quieter while we enjoyed our meal. Now that the boys are older we don't keep a bag of toys handy but we do have few games we use to keep the boys occupied if they start getting bored or squirmy while we're waiting for our food or our check. Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Growing pains aired in 1985 which put me around age 8 and it stayed on the air until I was 15 or so; I'm pretty sure most people in my age group watched mostly for Kirk Cameron and all his antics.  I still have a soft spot for family sit-coms!  The Facts of Life aired when I was just 2  and stayed on the air until I was 11 so I'm sure the episodes I remember so fondly were either some of the later ones and then reruns shown later on when I was old enough to watch from the beginning. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Making Gift Card and Money Holders Using Scrapbooking and Cardmaking Supples

I don't tend to keep a lot of crafting supplies on hand so when I saw this month's de-stash challenge I wasn't sure what I was going to make.  I finally realized that with so many of my Christmas gifts being cash and gift cards this year that I needed to make up some fun paper crafting/ creative ways to gift them.   I still want my nieces and nephews to have something to open so I pulled out my papers and stamps and made up some cute little money/gift card holders. They were much easier to make than I thought.  The first one I worked on was to hold some oversized Nintendo gift cards.  I made a standard sized card and folded down one corner of the card front.  Then I ran my double sided tape along the bottom an 1/2 way up the side creating a cute little pocket.  Finally I added some cute embellishments and ribbons.   Voila! Each year near the end of December/ beginning of January I share the top 10 posts of the year but this year, in particular, I have noticed some much older posts that are still bringing in lots of pageviews and thought it would be fun to look back and see a top 10 list of all time.  I started my blog in June of 2012 and while so many of my first posts were long blocky, chunky rambles without any real photos of us and our family I just can't bring myself to delete any of them as I really do enjoy looking back and seeing how my blog has change and grown over time.
