Botanical Garden at Tower Hill-- August 2025 Trip.
Last Tuesday, August 8th, both Evan and Alec were home and the weather was supposed to be fairly nice. With mild temps, light breezes, and just a bit of cloud cover (from the Canadian wildfires; not a storm) it seemed like the perfect time to head to the botanical gardens. Evan had been asking if we'd make another trip this summer and time is running out. The boys, my mom, and I spent a lovely day exploring the gardens. We didn't even cover 1/2 of the trails!
This year they had metal sculptures added to all the gardens; they were really neat and all of them interacted with the wind to move and throw light everywhere. But I fully admit we really missed the rainbow ribbon canopies from last year (that trip here)!
And now for all the photos. I can't even bother to write what they are underneath as there are so many varieties and many I don't even know. But both Evan and I were snapping away all day!
Evan's Photos:
Someone got engaged right in front of this fountain while we were there; we missed the actual asking by mere minutes!

| This dahlia was larger than my hand! |
This metal disk had some sort of iridescent plastic inside so it kept throwing off a rainbow of colors in the gaps.

What a fabulous trip to the botanical gardens! These flowers are beautiful. I was just at the Atlanta Botanical Garden with my oldest son and it was incredible as well.

They really are so beautiful. I am pretty clueless when it comes to gardening so I really enjoy visiting places like this that do it up well.
DeleteWhat a beautiful place! The pictures are so good. I'd love to visit those gardens! Thanks for sharing these photos.

DeleteWow! So so beautiful- bet you loved it there :)
ReplyDeleteWe really do!
DeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised that so much was in bloom this late in the summer.
DeleteBeautiful photographs.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI can kill a flower by just saying hello to it. I'm so glad others are better with them, so that I can enjoy their beauty. I loved visiting Botanical Gardens!
ReplyDeleteNow that I can't go myself anymore, I'm glad there are people like you sharing such beautiful pictures of them.
I am pretty much the same way! I do not know what I am doing with plants so around our house and yard it's really a survival of the fittest type situation. I figure those plants I don't kill are hardy enough to live through nearly anything.
DeleteWhat a stunning Botanical garden. Your photography is gorgeous too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Dawn
Aw, thank you!
DeleteWhat beautiful flowers and pictures! I am excited to go to the botanical gardens next week, whether my friends can come or not!

Thank you!
DeleteYou'd be so surprised at how our botanical gardens is very different. Very few flowers (except when the cactus are blooming in Apr/May) yet each is so fabulous in it's own right.

I'd love to see that!
DeleteThose white and pink hydrangeas are SO pretty!

Aren't they? I love most varieties of hydrangeas.
DeleteSo many beautiful flowers! I recognized a few. I really liked the wall with all the different foliage and flowers on it! I haven't been out in the gardens at Newfields because it's been so hot every time I'm there.

I really love those living walls too. Last year we moved in real close so we could figure how how they made it; even though I knew I'd never be able to make it myself I was curious.
DeleteSo many beautiful blooms! I also like the water features in the gardens. Thank you for your weekend coffee share.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteNature is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt really is!
DeleteWhat a great place and what a joy to see all those beautiful flowers in one place. Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhat a gorgeous garden! I especially love the coneflowers, those are my favorite. That metal sphere must have been stunning in person!
ReplyDeleteIt really was; so many of the sculptures moved in the breeze and interacted with the sun and lighting that it was hard to really capture their beauty.
DeleteSuch a beautiful place to hang out. Austin has a botanical garden called Zilker that has some of the same features as yours. I haven't been there in ages - maybe when the weather cools!
ReplyDeleteYeah, we made the mistake of going on a hot day last year and it was hard to really enjoy the flowers when we felt like we were melting. This year's weather was so much better!
DeleteA botanical garden is always so beautiful and especially better with nice weather! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI loved looking at all the beautiful flowers! It’s making me even more excited for spring! Ruth@playworkeatrepeat
ReplyDeleteI'll bet!

DeleteI could spend hours at gardens like this. The flowers are gorgeous! Hope you've had a great weekend, Joanne. 😊
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSuch beautiful flowers Joanne! My favorite is the orange flower with lots of pink in it. I love color clashes. I think it's amazing your boys like to go to botanical garden. Such a nice interest to have.
ReplyDeleteI'm always amazed at how much they enjoy going to botanical gardens too!
DeleteEvery single photo is stunning! You captured so much beauty!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you so much!
DeleteWhat a beautiful place to visit! The flowers are all stunning and there were so many different types.
ReplyDeleteThey really did have such a large variety of flowers.
DeleteI think I could walk around gardens like this all day and not grow tired of it! You all captured some beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteOh, I definitely could too!
DeleteThe sculptures are nice, but I liked the the rainbow ribbon canopies better. So many flowers at this time of the year is just amazing. Your photos are lovely!!
ReplyDelete-Soma
Right?! Me too; I thought the sculptures were so pretty but those ribbon canopies are amazing and they lent a great sound experience to the whole thing too. Plus I definitely love lots of colors in a garden-- real or otherwise.
DeleteYou got some great pictures, as always! That area where you said someone had just gotten engaged looks almost identical to a spot in our Botanical Gardens! It's so similar!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I know they often host weddings in that spot too and thought that while it probably costs a fortune I bet it is just amazing!
