Talking About it Tuesdays #81
I hope you all had a good week! We had some really lovely weather and enjoyed a trip to the zoo. Of course no week is complete in the summer without some rain and thunderstorms too but I didn't mind as I managed to complete another painting and a good handful of cards with some new hot foil plates that came in. Can you believe this is the end of July already? Time just keeps flying by.
I found some really delicious recipes at last week party and read about a few new places I've added to my travel bucket list. I can't wait to see what you'll share with us this week!
A few that caught my eye:
This party will remain open until the weekend. My hope is that everyone will share all sorts of wonderful posts: travel, recipes, how to's, crafting ideas, and more-- up to 3 posts per blog. Anything that is family friendly is welcome; even old posts that you'd like to get some new views.

I've been craving key lime pie and I might try Babs key lime ice box cake that I think Tanya made. I got the cookbook from the library. Those chicken skewers look so good. We are getting a cool front and I am so happy! We had quite a storm last night.
ReplyDeleteOh I bet that is tasty too! We're in the midst of a heatwave this week so I'm mostly staying inside and only walking outside from car to building.
DeleteWe have had about every weather event this summer (except snow- we've not had that!). It's been a bit of a weird one but I've hardly had to water my plants and plants are thriving so no major complaints from me... I hope you had fun at the zoo!
ReplyDeleteThankfully we haven't had snow this summer either; but I do know the town over had large damaging hail!
DeleteJoanne, I wouldn't mind a slice of that key lime pie right about now ... yes, for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteI love to eat dessert for breakfast on occasion.
DeleteYou must get more rain out east than we do in the midwest. I'd love a rain storm once a week, then I'd never have to water! Thanks for the party.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the summer; some are really, really rainy, some are very dry, but this one seems to have a nice even mix of both.
DeleteWe've had so many thunderstorms too! I can't wait to look through the links. Thanks for hosting, Joanne!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteOhhhh, that Key Lime Pie...I hope for rain each day, to flush out the heat and give me a bit of a break in watering the garden...but we have thunder almost every other day around here in the summer time.
ReplyDeleteThunder without any rain seems so bizarre to me, we really only get thunder when there is a big storm front moving through.
DeleteJoanne,

You're welcome!
DeleteSummer has landed and my garden knows it! Canning, canning, canning!
ReplyDeleteYep, I made pickles and zucchini relish today though I hardly made a dent in the sheer amount of zucchini and squash I have.
DeleteSounds like a good week! You must share the foil card designs
ReplyDeleteI shared them here: https://www.myslicesoflife.com/2025/07/cards-paper-crafts-and-scrapbook-pages.html
DeleteKey lime pie is Jacob's favorite dessert and I've never attempted to make one because Publix has the best key lime pies I've ever had. I'm heading over to take a peek at this recipe, though!! One of these days I'm going to make my own!
ReplyDeleteAlec and I have made key lime pie a few times; honestly the hardest part was finding the key limes or the key lime juice!
DeleteI've never had key lime pie but I am smitten with Kitty's table setting!! So pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI never had either up until a few years ago when family members were putting in their requests with my son for possible 4th of July desserts for him to make and bring. Several mentioned key lime pie. Never having made any he was intrigued and ended up making 2 pies that first year. I was surprised at how much I liked it even though I nearly didn't get any! It was gone in a flash.
DeleteHello Joanne, thank you so much for the lovely party and sharing SSPS logo on your blogpost, much appreciated.

You're welcome!
DeleteI will be trying some new recipes in the coming weeks: finding ways to add vegan protein to some meals. I have grilled a lot the last couple of weeks and the meat is so much juicier than in the oven (and less hot for the house). School starts next week for my younger boys!

Good luck adding vegan protein into your meals. I'm still trying to sneak some in here and there!
