Prime Purchases in June

 It's the first Monday of the month and time to link up with Andrea and Jill for Prime Purchases. I bought all of 6 items this month.  


 Our washing machine shredded our comforter so I bought this new one for our bed. 


 We haven't been able to find my husband's favorite granola in any of our stores (no he doesn't like my homemade granola!) so we bought him this case of 6. 


 

I use these freeze dried strawberries in my homemade granola bars and can't seem to find them locally so I bought this 2 pack; hoping they'll last a couple of months. 


 

 Our yard is covered in ant mounts this summer so I bought a couple bags of this diatomaceous Earth natural insect killer. 


 

 I was looking for a yellow top to go with a pair of printed shorts I own and ordered quite a few; I kept these two tops even though they don't actually go with the shorts at all...I just really liked them!

This yellow one is so cute with the lace detailing and I love that it has buttons up the back too (purely decorative but oh so cute).  It comes in so many great colors too! 


 

I knew this printed one wouldn't match before I even ordered it but I have so few short sleeved tops and just loved the feminine look of it. It comes in lots of colors and patterns too.  


 
I prefer wearing it 1/2 tucked but here's what it looks like untucked

      Thank you! They really are so hard to get rid of; thankfully they are mostly all around outside in our yard and we don't see that many in the house. Sadly the ant killer didn't work either as you have to reapply it every time it rains and we've had a very rainy spring/summer so far.

    Did you say that you've canceled your Prime account? I thought it was you who had but couldn't remember entirely. I like the clothes you bought. You styled the yellow top way better than the photo from Amazon in my opinion!! Both tops are really cute. Have a great day!

      Yep, I canceled my Prime account in December and I don't miss it; I still get free shipping for any order over $35 anyway.

    I love yellow! Cute! My husband likes the Nature Valley Protein granola. I do, too. It's the oats and honey flavor. Lots of people like the brand you got, though.

      I'm embracing yellow more this summer than usual. I really can only wear after I have a slight tan. That used to be my favorite granola too (the oat & honey protein one) but I just make my own now.

    That is a really pretty comforter.
    I think I need to find some of that insect killer, we have a lot of ants in our garden.
    Those tops are so pretty. I don't usually wear yellow as it attracts the little flies that we have here but I would so wear the one's you chose.

      They are so delicious... but I'm noticing that all freeze dried fruits are so expensive. I nearly looked into buying my own machine (but they're also crazy expensive and I don't need one more thing in our kitchen).

    I love the new comforter! Looks cozy. It's amazing the things you can find on Amazon!! What did we do before Amazon? I've been wanting some yellow pieces to add to my wardrobe, but haven't gotten lucky with that color at the thrift stores yet. Love those tops you got!

    The yellow tops are great, the color is vastly underutilized in my opinion. British chef Nigella Lawson has a great granola recipe, much better than store bought.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Movies like Mom's Night Out, Christmas Vacation, and Grown Ups make me laugh out loud. 7.  When my ...

What I Read in June & Share Your Shelf #15

It's the first Thursday of the month and time for Share Your Shelf with  Marilyn,   Jennifer,   Tanya,  and I. This post and link up are dedicated solely to books and book reviews and it's one I look so forward to each and every month. I am always looking for new and more book ideas. I came home from Acadia to find that 8 of the books I had requested through our local library came in all at once; I struggled to get them read as well as the Netgalley books I had downloaded, the 3 books I bought on vacation, and the myriad books I already had lying around the house. Obviously, I couldn't read them ALL but I think I did a pretty decent job chipping steadily away at the pile. I managed to read 14 books in all this month and I enjoyed so many of them so much. It's the first Wednesday of the month and time for the currently link up with Jenn. In July we're talking about what we're currently loving, savoring, celebrating, remembering, and trying.  Loving:  Linen! Linen and gauze are my two favorite summer fabrics but this summer in particular I have so many linen pieces I am just LOVING. I got these aqua linen pants in my stitch fix box and I wear them pretty much any time they are clean. I love the color!    I also found these adorable linen blend harem pants on the Old Navy site as I was trying to order another pair of wide leg black linen pants (since mine have a tiny pinhole starting on the leg) and I just love the style so much. Favorites and Highlights One Sentence A Day in June 2025

We had such a fun June and it feels like the month just flew by! We did manage to pack a whole lot of fun into our month though.  1.  So thankful Ian took it upon himself to fix our front walk! A windy cold day but Ian worked on the front walk anyway and Evan and I headed out for hike. 11,449 steps.  in all honesty I covered up this shirt with a hooded sweatshirt in no time I set up my chair for the summer and had to try it out; if only for a moment 2. So thankful for a wonderful first day of vacation.  Alec, my husband and I headed to Southwest Harbor Maine stopping in both Kittery and Freeport Maine along the way. 9,961 steps.    3. So thankful for perfect biking weather (and the invention of ebikes).  After a delicious breakfast at our B&B we headed into Bar Harbor to pick up our ebike rentals for the day so we could explore Acadia's carriage roads and then the town before heading back to our B&B to rest and get dinner. 20,003 steps. ...
