Weigh- In Wednesdays; The Last One!

After rejoining Weight Watchers, I knew I wanted to reinstate my Weigh- In Wednesdays posts and it was great for keeping me motivated and focused. But I haven't used Weight Watchers at all in the past 2 months and earlier this month I gave up access to their app. I figured why pay for it if I wasn't using it?

I feel pretty confident that I know what I need to do to keep the weight off and I am definitely still focused on healthy living and nutrition but I think it's time to say good-bye to this link up so today will be my last Weigh-in Wednesday for the foreseeable future.

I did gain quite a few pounds on our Maine trip but I was not at all surprised; eating fried foods and ice cream daily will do that. Even if we did bike 24 miles, hike for upwards of 5 miles, and put on lots and lots of steps walking.

That said we returned home and I went back to healthy eating.

Fruit yogurt and granola with chia seeds for breakfast

Or eggs with veggies and my 2-ingredient bagels.

For lunch I often made "snack" plates or a salad with either tuna or chicken on top.

Dinner we made chicken stir-fry with loads of veggies over rice

We made a new Greek chicken and rice one dish meal that was so light and yet flavorful!

I just have 1 pound left to go (I had managed to take that stubborn pound of from last month's link up just before we left and now it's once again not wanting to leave!).

I have upped my gym workouts and we're still hiking anytime the weather allows.

  1. Your food pics all look so good! Sorry to see the link up go (I'd always planned on writing a post and linking up but it never happened) but I understand your reasons. Good luck with the one pound- where there's a will there's a way (well, those middle age hormone changes kinda make me rethink that statement). You look great so I'd focus on that and not the one pound (but I know what it's like to want to get rid of some weight, even one pound!). Have a great day!

    1. Aw, thank you! I definitely feel like those middle aged hormones are working against me.. and I hear from all the older ladies at the gym that it just gets worse. I'm trying to mostly focus on how I feel and how my clothes fit and not so much the numbers on the scale.

  2. I feel like it's automatic for you now, too. I have the app and I am struggling to use it. I need to figure out my summer routine and automate my breakfast and lunch when possible. Your post gives me some good ideas including to use paper plates. I have so many dishes!

    1. Even with paper plates we run our dishwasher 3 times a day! It's nuts but I'm trying so hard not to mind. Alec loves to cook himself up "real" meals for breakfast and lunch and I feel like I live my life in the kitchen prepping food so dishes are a big part of it. I just could not keep up so we switched to mostly using paper plates and I have zero regrets (though I do sometimes feel guilty about the environmental impact).

  3. I think you live life the right way- perfect balance of healthy eating- working out and splurges- that's the way to do it!

  4. You always have the healthiest looking plates.

    1. Mine did tell me I had to keep it going until my next payment period (which happened to be at the end of May)...and of course they kept trying to entice me to stay but I figure if I ever need it again I know it's there and it's easy enough to reactivate an account.

  5. It sounds sensible giving up paying for access to the WW app. You are doing great with the healthy eating. Your food all looks delicious.

  6. I'd say the weight watching app has run it's course for you. Very satisfying to reach that point. Good luck shifting that last pesty pound. #MMBC

  7. I always love seeing everything you eat... it's always such a colorful variety of so many things!

  8. Nicely done. All the exercise is great but the real trick is matching it with food healthy enough and delicious enough that cravings don't come calling! Looks like you have it!

    1. Yes, oh those food cravings can really undo you so easily! I'm still battle sugar cravings after having given in to them so much this month.

  9. Those last pounds are always the hardest! But, you’ll do it between your hiking, gym, and good eating!

It's so good that you know the course now. I think that's the biggest key and realizing that the number isn't what is important. Giving our bodies the nutrients that it needs make us feel better and function better.

    1. Aw, thank you. I bet you'd be far less picky than my family! LOL

  12. They closed most of our WW locations for weigh-in here. There's only one spot to go and not at all convenient. But I even find my original "points grid" (the old sliding scale, if you were in it that long) is helpful. It worked then, it does now, more or less. What counts is being as diligent as you!

    1. I've never been to a meeting but I did hear that WW declared bankruptcy and was re-configuring their business model. I started WW in 2019 so I've always had their phone app to use but nothing physical to look at or look back on.

  13. Sounds like you are on the right track. I've enjoyed your posts and will miss them.

  14. Hate to see this series go quiet. Maybe you can revive it again someday. I always liked seeing what you were eating. I have done WW off and on since 2010. We started by going to the meetings, PC and I, but then life got in the way of that and when we could use the app instead, that became our go-to way of losing weight. I really believe WW works but hate that they keep changing the format and the points values.

    1. Aw, thank you! Yeah, I was getting annoyed with the constant changes too.

  15. I can totally understand gaining weight while on vacation. In fact, I think being on vacation is less fun if you have to watch your weight all the time. But it looks like you're going great with the healthy foods now that you're home again!

    1. I completely agree; I try real hard not to worry about it too much when we're on vacation.
