Talking About it Tuesday #73

Hello on this first Tuesday in June! My husband and I took our middle son to Acadia this week (we offered but the other two didn't want to go so they're holding down the fort at home). I'll be home this weekend and will check out whatever you link up then.  
 
We had a 7 way tie for most viewed right up until Friday morning! I wasn't sure what I was going to do with that so I'm glad we finally had 2 that struck out in the lead and stayed there until the party closed. It makes me so happy to see how many people are clicking through and (hopefully!) reading/ leaving comments. We bloggers love comments, don't we? I found a few new yummy recipes to try and am so inspired to travel; if only I could win the lottery (that I never play! LOL). I for sure would be traveling so much more if money wasn't an object. How about you? What is something you'd do more of if you had nearly unlimited funds?

    Wow! Marilyn and I tied! I have to laugh at my horrible chicken salad photo, but man am I craving more of that! We had it yesterday at work but on croissants. I like it better with Club crackers. Have a wonderful time in Acadia!

      They are literally surrounded by family; 3 sets of grandparents, 2 uncles/aunts, and assorted cousins so I'm sure they're fine.

    My husband and I are getting older, and lost a few dear friends this year to unexpected illness, so traveling more is always on our mind. We also enjoy staying home and enjoying time with our kids and grandkids, so short trips seem to suit us best. That is why we drive all around Colorado--so much beautiful nature and interesting towns to see.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Share 4 Somethings in May

Since the last Saturday of the month is tomorrow it's just about time for Share 4 Somethings with Jenn. As always we're sharing some things we loved, some things we learned, some things that went well, and some things we let go of .  Some things I've loved: It feels like overnight everything just exploded into bloom. We are seeing so much green and our flowers are starting to bloom. I am just loving it!    May 1st may 14th! We also celebrated Ian's 21st birthday this month (a bit late since his birthday is really at the end of April- but the end of April was really busy). I loved having the whole family together.   I had a really lovely fabulous mother's day weekend that I loved.  (I wrote about the whole weekend here if you're interested) . A highlight was taking both the moms out for mother's day dinner.   Some things I've learned: My mom showed us all this bird call app she uses on her phone and we used it a time or two while hiking. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Currently in June 2025

It's the first Wednesday of the month and time for the Currently link up with Jenn. This month we're sharing what we're currently:  loving, doing outside, cooking/grilling, excited about, and wearing.    Loving:  Ian fixed our front walk this past weekend so we shouldn't have an ice skating rink in front of our front door this winter (he sloped it slightly and reused all the old patio pieces we already had so it cost us nothing!).   We are loving the weather and our time here in Maine; just look at the views!   Doing outside:  Hiking! (at home before our trip)  We're in Acadia this week so we're hiking, biking, walking, exploring, and eating outside.    Cooking/grilling:  I have the whole week off from cooking or grilling anything.  Hey, look at me finally remembering to write up a Hodgepodge Wednesday post! This week Joyce came up with some fun questions to answer.   1. March 15th is known as The Ides of March, the date on which Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 B.C....have you ever been to Rome? If so what did you love most about the city? If not, is this a place you'd like to visit?  Nope, I've never been but I wouldn't turn down a trip if someone was offering! It's not first on my Italy bucket list though..
