Spring Photo Challenge 2025

One of my spring goals was to use my "real" camera more often so I went in search of a photo challenge I could participate in for spring. I found some old photo challenge ideas on Pinterest and ended up picking topics from a few different challenges and compiled them into one big list for myself.

 Now, not all these photos are taken with my Nikon but it did prompt me to use it a bit more often and not always just rely on my cell phone.

    You took some really nice photos for the challenge. That salad looks so good. Is that something that you made or got from a restaurant? As I was longingly staring at it, I realized it looks like something that would be easy to replicate. (I love fruit and nuts in salad!!) As always, love your nature pics. Have a great weekend!

    So my question is, can you tell a difference with the camera vs phone? We use a camera for our blog photos with the crew, but we aren't even sure.

      Only if I'm trying to get artsy-- my pone wont blur the background if I'm trying to focus only on something in the foreground but other than that I often think my phone actually takes better pictures... which Is why I tend to use it more. But I find I'm forgetting all the settings/ buttons on my real camera from lack of use so I don't want to give it up completely.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Talking About it Tuesdays #75

We had some really beautiful weather last week (and some rain too) but it was finally hot and sunny and felt like summer was well on its way. We went strawberry picking and made some homemade jam. We had a quiet weekend with the older two boys working both days. My husband's only real request for father's day was some delicious homemade strawberry shortcake with our freshly picked strawberries and I was happy to comply! How I Did With My Spring Bucket List

Since Friday is the first official day of summer I figured it was time to see how I did with my spring bucket list before I share my summer list next Monday. 1. Enjoy a weekend with the girls in Louisville, KY (and check another state off my list!) -- check! It was such a fun trip.   2. Celebrate Ian's 21st birthday! --Check! We took him to dinner before I left for Kentucky and had a birthday party with the grandparents the weekend after I got back.  3. Take a couple field trips with Evan -- Nope! We finished up school at the end of April and there just wasn't enough time to fit any field trips in. 4. Enjoy a week in Acadia with Alec and my husband -- Check!   5. Go to the farmer's market -- Nope... BUT they JUST opened last weekend. I always forget how late in spring harvest starts around here so I'll move this to my summer list. 6. Go hiking -- Check!
