Prime Purchases in May

This was a very busy month of Amazon purchases; between replacing some things for Alec's dorm next year, some needed graduation gifts (using Alec and his friends' favorite dorm room purchases)

Let's start with the grad gifts: I have a niece and nephew graduating this year so I bought pretty much 2 of everything:

This multi outlet extension cord

These bedside caddies (Alec told me it was his most useful of all our purchases last year).

 These dorm fridge storage organizers

This clip light

I'll turn these into gift baskets using the bedside caddy to hold the items, add in some fun/small things like chocolate candies, some string lights, our dorm packing list etc.

Speaking of dorm rooms Alec needed some hangers for pants.

I bought him this set

and this set (though I ended up keeping these for my skirts since his pants hung down too long on these).

We saw lots of people using these collapsible wagons to move their kids out of the dorm and I decided to buy one too since the last folding dolly I tried using this past year really doesn't work for the size loads we wanted to carry.

Alec also needed some new white undershirts for under his culinary uniforms and I was so thrilled to find these came in Talls!!

Then since I was already placing a few orders I added in a few things for myself.

In Kentucky Jenn and Amy convinced me to buy these cute sneakers--  I love them so much! They are so comfy. I did try buying them directly from the Dr. Scholl's site but my size wasn't available in the color/style I wanted.

Amy also convinced me to give Diva detergent a try; I do like the smell but only use 1/2 a capful or so on each load of laundry mixed with my regular no perfume/no dye detergent.

And finally we bought this self-adhesive hand towel holder for our kitchen; with the double oven we had no good place to hang our hand towels anymore. So far the adhesive is holding up well (though it does come with screws too!).

  1. That multi-outlet extension cord looks amazing! We need something like that since our home has dual-voltage, but only maybe 1 or 2 US outlets per room!

  3. Great dorm purchases! I am glad you got to Dr. Scholl's like Jenn's. Also, the Diva - same. I only use a tiny bit with my no dye and no scent liquid detergent and it just gives it the nicest mild smell - i think. I might get those pants hangers since they would go well with my felted top hangers.

    1. Alec and his friends said that was really handy; we only used and on the other side we found some metal magnet shelves and a paper towel holder that they used to store small foods, tea, etc. and a roll of paper towels (obviously).

I've seen those collapsable wagons at fairs and swap meets too...they are all around functional.

    1. Hands down they all told me that was the biggest help since the beds are pretty high up in the air and they have no bedside tables.

  19. Your post reminded me I need hangers. I guess new clothes are coming in and old aren't going out lol. You got some great things, especially for organization. You will love the wagon. Both my girls have one and they're great for the beach too or park picnics where you need to lug stuff. Have a great day!

  20. I’ve been buying that detergent for years. I only wash our blankets with it and, like you, only use a little. But it smells so good.
Also — I love those pink shoes! 💜

  28. The sneakers are very cute! The holder for the towels seems like a cool idea. My son doesn't have lodging yet for fall, who knows what he will need. He may have to commute if he doesn't figure it out.
