Favorites and Highlighs in May; One Sentence a Day
Oh May! It was a colder and rainier May than we expected but we still had a pretty great month.
1. So thankful to see everything turning green again. Gym, getting caught up on the blog and then a lovely hike with both Alec and Evan in the afternoon. 14,591 steps.
2. So thankful to be able to help out a friend that is facing a hysterectomy. I was woken up around 3 by a loud thunderstorm and never made it back to sleep so I skipped the gym and headed to the grocery store between rain storms. Then I spent my day in the kitchen making salad, cutting up fruit, making Ian's birthday cake, making some salad dressings, getting dinner going in the crock pot, etc. 5,260 steps.
3. So thankful to finally catch up on some sleep. I spent my morning frosting Ian's cake and running errands with my husband then ended up taking a 2 1/2 hour nap after lunch before more rain and thunderstorms moved in. Step counter died..

4. So thankful for a lovely evening filled with family. I spent my morning finishing my latest book then worked on some more mother's day cards before the grandparents came for dinner and to (finally) celebrate Ian's 21st birthday. 3,839 steps.
5. Thankful to have my "gym buddy" back for the summer. Gym with my mom in the morning then I cleaned the upstairs and worked in the kitchen making a salad/getting dinner ready before heading out to run some errands-- in the rain! By the time I returned home I had to take Evan to his friend's house (Alec had work and took the car). 9,072 steps.
6. I was thankful for a rainy day that made me rather productive inside. It poured all day long but I still went to my yoga class then spent the day cleaning house and working on the last of the cards I needed for the month. 6,286 steps.

7. So thankful for a super sweet staff at the boys' doctor's office. Gym with my mom, home to clean and prep food then Alec, Evan and I went hiking since the sun came back out! In the afternoon I took Evan to his doctor's appointment. 11,190 steps.
8. So thankful I was able to find all but 1 item on my grocery list at the new store. Alec had to work and needed the car so I brought Evan to his last class at the college and went to get our groceries nearby then we spent our afternoon inside with threats (and appearances) of thunderstorms in our area. 8,878 steps.
9. Grateful for a lovely night out with the whole family. Gym with my mom, a quiet day at home in the pouring rain, a surprise visit from my brother in law, then dinner out at Bella's with both of our moms for Mother's day. 6,967 steps.

10. So thankful for one on one time with Alec. Ian had to work and Evan was under the weather but Alec took me to breakfast before we headed to a mother's day plant show (in the rain) then in the evening we both went to Providence to see Shen Yun too. 6,603 steps.
11. Grateful for a wonderful and relaxing mother's day! Ian and Alec headed to work while the rest of us headed out hiking then I spent my afternoon crafting and manage to squeeze in time for a delicious ice cream treat before dinner. 13,599 steps.
12. Grateful to have dinner all made by someone else! Gym with my mom then home to work on housework/household stuff-- cleaning the upstairs, doing all the laundry, ordering all the grad gifts we need, etc. 12,032 steps.

13. So thankful for great music I can sing along to with the moon roof open on the car while the sun is shining. I skipped yoga to get a haircut, swung by the grocery store on the way home and talked Evan into going on a hike when I got home. 8,581 steps.
14. So thankful the rain held off for the day! Gym with my mom, Alec and I whipped up some chili then Evan and I picked up my mom and headed for a hike; our original hiking spot had both parking lots closed so we found a nice backup spot to go. It was really pretty! 12,848 steps.

15. So grateful for Evan's wonderful teachers and their letters of recommendation they wrote. A huge thunderstorm woke me up before the crack of dawn and I settled in to work on some scrapbooking before taking Evan to his final exam (Alec had the car at work) then I spent the afternoon working on more scrapbooking. 6,408 steps.
16. So thankful for a quick easy doctor's check-up. Gym with my mom, yearly check-up with the doctor, a hike around the dam with Evan and my mom after lunch, then since Ben and Ian were off fishing I took Alec and Evan out to dinner. 12,202 steps.

17. So thankful to feel like the house is finally ready for summer. We went grocery shopping, pressure washed the deck and put out all the patio & deck furniture 9,016 steps.
18. So thankful for a fun afternoon ride.. I worked in the garden and put out all decorations, organized our Hawaii photos into an album, and then went on a RZR ride with my husband. 11,479 (though I think it's more like 8 or 9 thousand since the RZR throws off my step counter).

19. So thankful to have finished all our Hawaii Scrapbooking pages! Gym with my mom, errands with Evan (Amazon returns at Staples, Michael's, Target, Danielson Surplus to get him some new hiking shoes, the library), and after lunch I finished our Hawaii scrapbook pages. Step counter malfunctioned...

20. I am always so grateful for how relaxed, stretched, and strong I feel after yoga! I went to yoga then worked on paying bills and getting the rest of our Hawaii photos labeled and put away before driving Evan to his friend's house (Alec had the boys' car at work). 5,114 steps.
21. So thankful I had nowhere to be on this very cold day. After I went to gym with my mom I mostly spent my day reading books and blogs; it was a chilly 50 degree day and I had zero desire to go out in our cloudy cold windy weather. 8,047 steps.

22. So thankful for YouTube videos that give me some ideas on how to use new card making supplies. I spent a very rainy and cold morning working on getting some cards made and taught myself some new techniques before heading out for my annual mammogram. 5,937 steps.
23. So thankful my boys were willing to help with grocery shopping today! Gym with my mom, then I took the two younger boys to the grocery store with me and spent the rest of my day prepping food, reading, etc.while it rained... again. 8,625 steps.
24. SO thankful we didn't have any thunder or lightening as we hiked! Evan got us all (except Ian who was working) to hike up Mt. Wachusett, unfortunately it began sprinkling as we arrived and began raining in earnest on the way down despite the forecast not calling for rain. It rained off and on all day long but we made it home by lunch and spent the rest of our day inside. 9,610 steps.
25. So very thankful that after 24 years we'd both rather spend the day together than with anyone else. My husband and I took off for the day to celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary and explored Mystic Seaport as well as downtown Mystic. 13,466 steps.

26. Thankful for such a beautiful and productive day! Memorial Day Monday found us cleaning the house and working on the yard; we had some really nice weather for most of the day so the guys cleared off our "old" beach to make a second one, we cleaned the cars inside and out, ripped up the front walk in prep for fixing it over the next couple of weeks. 8,553 steps.

27. So thankful I was able to renew my license online in just under 10 minutes; saving myself a trip to the Department of Motor Vehicles! Yoga with my mom, then Evan and I went hiking, followed by some errands (Old Navy, Famous Footwear, Target, etc). 13,873 steps.
28. So thankful the rain and cold held off another day! Gym with my mom, more errands (Lowe's, Kay Jewelers, Stop & Shop) then home to walk the airline trail with my mom and Evan. We ended the night voting on our town's budget. 14,721 steps.

29. Thankful that I had no outdoor plans today. It was a miserably cool and cloudy day so I hung around inside and started working on some more scrapbooking pages, getting the laundry done, and cooking up some delicious foods. 6,871 steps
30. Thankful that the rain in the forecast held off until after dinner. Gym with my mom, a quick trip to the grocery store, paid bills, kept an eye on Evan who once again was feeling pretty awful. 8,763 steps.

31. So thankful to feel like I've finally caught up on my sleep. A very rain day that my husband and I spent mostly holed up in our finished basement watching TV, napping, and working on our computers. 4,229 steps.
