Currently in June 2025

It's the first Wednesday of the month and time for the Currently link up with Jenn. This month we're sharing what we're currently: loving, doing outside, cooking/grilling, excited about, and wearing.

Loving: Ian fixed our front walk this past weekend so we shouldn't have an ice skating rink in front of our front door this winter (he sloped it slightly and reused all the old patio pieces we already had so it cost us nothing!).

We are loving the weather and our time here in Maine; just look at the views!

Doing outside: Hiking! (at home before our trip)

We're in Acadia this week so we're hiking, biking, walking, exploring, and eating outside.

Cooking/grilling: I have the whole week off from cooking or grilling anything. But we have been eating so good! Much too fatty and sugary but oh so good.

Grilled feta, strawberry, and arugula sandwich with fries

Tuna panini

LL Bean's Bean Boot Crunch popcorn mix

1st course for breakfast yesterday was a Lemon Curd Madeline Cake with fresh berries

2nd course: Egg roulade with blueberry muffin and potato hash bake

Our "lunch" of sorts was just some quick pick up items in the park; I picked a blueberry ice tea and a cinnamon roll.

Dinner was some seafood right on the pier!

Excited about: I just heard from my mom that my brother and his family moved into the campground (right next to our house) yesterday and I'm really rather excited to have so much family around this summer. I'm also excited that we have reservations to go up on Cadillac mountain/summit today. I'm not sure what we'll do after that but I'm betting some sort of a hike.

Wearing: Lots of pink!

and lots of hiking clothes!

    1. Ian actually considers that quite the small project based on the others he's been doing this summer but it was so nice to see him in his element just doing his thing.

  20. The food looks fabulous! First things first lol. I love Acadia, one of my favorite places. Looks like beautiful weather too. You'll be so happy to have the new walkway come Winter. We had an ice rink for a front porch in our NJ house. I called it the Home Alone porch. We never really went in or out the front door, but it could be precarious for delivery people who didn't look closely. We had to constantly monitor the situation and that was annoying. Enjoy your trip!

    1. We never really used our front walk either but the boys do park out there so they've been navigating the ice rink and I think Ian had finally had enough. I am so glad I won't have to be as vigilant with delivery people and guests anymore.

  21. Wow! Your photos of Maine and Acadia are absolutely stunning — everything looks so green and vibrant. It was such a nice change to see them instead of the cold, grey skies we’re having at the moment. Ruth@playworkeatrepeat
