Louisville, Kentuckey Girls' Trip days 3 & 4
Sunday morning we had a later start to our day, deciding to meet Amy at Biscuit Belly at 10:30. I ordered sweet tea, a fruit/yogurt/granola bowl, and some Bonuts (donuts made from biscuit dough) that came with bourbon cream cheese frosting.
From there we took two cars to head out shopping; stopping at 2 different stores.
After shopping we stopped at BoomBozz to get some appetizers to share then Amy headed home while the rest of us piled into Maria's car and headed out sightseeing in downtown Louisville. We stopped by a park to look at all the bridges.
Then headed to the Louisville Slugger Museum to see the giant bat.
From there we headed back to the rental and hung out until it was time for Tanya to go to the airport. Maria and I drove her while Amy hung out back at the house with Marilyn and Jenn. After Maria and I got back we all just hung out snacking, talking, and laughing until we were all ready to call it a night.
In the morning Marilyn, Jenn, Maria and I packed up, cleaned up the rental and got ready to leave. Before saying goodbye to Louisville Maria and I decided to take one last walk around the neighborhood to get some exercise before our day of travel.
Maria drove me to the airport and I had some time to kill before my flight so I wandered around for a bit.
Both flights were easy and uneventful. I had window seats and lovely sunny/clear skies.
It was such a fun and carefree weekend filled with great food and good friends. I can not wait for next year's trip!

The Louisville airport looked neat with all the Derby photo ops! It was such a fun weekend- the things that we did in the city and just hanging out at the house were both equally enjoyable to me. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI just lucked out on them setting those Derby photo ops up as I was walking by.

It really was a fabulous city.
DeleteI am so glad you got to see the airport decked out. Apparently closer to Derby it was even more decked out and they had a three piece musical group playing in the airport!

ReplyDeleteThat big walking park just made it like in the top 10 parks in America. Did you do the walking bridge to walk to Indiana?
No, we didn't get a chance to do that; though I would have loved it! We were on a real time crunch since Tanya was leaving that night to head back home.
DeleteIt looks like a nice time in a nice place!
ReplyDeleteIt sure was!

DeleteLooks like such a fun trip and wow, that's one big bat!!
ReplyDeleteIt really is such a giant bat!
DeleteTaking a walk before the travel was a great idea! I read your first post too, but didn't comment. I felt the same way about feeling slightly unsure about changing the group by adding more people since last year was just about perfect. I'm happy that it all worked out so well!
