Prime Purchases in August

 It's the first Monday of the month and time for Prime Purchases; I actually didn't buy much in August after spending so much in July buying all of Alec's dorm things. 


Rather than buy and try to fit one more suitcase in the car for our trip, I decided to buy each of the boys a different color of this set of packing cubes. That way we can mix and match their clothes between 2 suitcases and save some money on checked bag fees too.


I couldn't get this book from our library so I bought it.


I bought myself this new fitness tracker


I added this book (with matching workbook) to Evan's pile of possible schoolwork this year.


I needed some more Cricut mats and adhesive refills so I could work on some more scrapbook pages. 




I bought these foaming hand soap refills

      Thank you! It's an item we reorder frequently. One bag usually fills at least 2-3 bottles.

      Me too! That's how I ended up with Democracy in Retrograde too but I was thrilled to see I could buy a workbook and turn it into a homeschooling lesson.

    I have two sets of packing cubes so I think I'll give one to my hubs for our upcoming trip. I ordered new luggage for myself as we needed a new super sized suitcase, so he'll likely put some things in mine and this will make that easier.

    I need to do these Amazon monthly posts again! Ohh, my daughter loves foaming soap and I didn't know they had huge refill packs like that. I'm more of a regular soap person myself. Haha. I looove packing cubes and my son has his own color, but my daughter is always borrowing my pink ones (I have 2 sets since I pack so much), so I really need to get her own set!

    I haven't ever used packing cubes. I have all these zippered bags sheets came in...I'm guessing they work the same as packing cubes. You really didn't buy much this month!

    I have never used packing cubes... I've always wondered if they were worth it. To me, it just seems like the cubes themselves would add more bulk to the suitcase.

      I can actually fit quite a bit more in my suitcase with the cubes than without. BUT, it will make the cases heavier so I have to watch that part.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6. Movies like Mom's Night Out, Christmas Vacation, and Grown Ups make me laugh out loud. 7.  When my boys were youn

Dorm Move In & Alec's Dorm Photos

 Alec and I loaded up the car Wednesday morning. I was literally unable to sleep the night before thinking there was no way we were going to fit all his stuff ( see yesterday's post! ) into my car. But first try we got it all to fit! There wasn't really any room to spare but that's okay, we all fit and so did everything he wanted to bring with him.  Since Alec is in the honors program he got to move in 2 days before the rest of the school (on Thursday).. which meant we didn't hear a whole lot from the school on what to expect for move in day. We were told to be there anywhere between 10 am and 7 pm so we decided to shoot for the 10 am and give ourselves plenty of time. His roommate wouldn't be moving in until Saturday and Alec will have a full day of activities and meetings today (on Friday).  We did label everything with Alec's name, dorm name, and room # just in case and printed out a parking pass (again, just in case)-- none of which we needed to do but were
