Talking About it Tuesdays #19

I hope the beginning of May has been treating you well. So far our weather has been less than great BUT I've managed to get some yard work done so that's something anyway. I'm happy to have you back here for another Talking About it Tuesdays. It brings me a lot of joy to see what you all link up each week. I've seen at least one or two new and fresh faces each week too and that really makes me smile. I love seeing this community grow.

    We have had a cooler than normal spring this year. We have a freeze warning tonight! I just hope it does not lead to a hotter than normal summer.

      We had a freeze warning over the weekend... I'm equally torn between worrying about an usually hot summer but also I really don't want a rainy and cold summer either. Those aren't usually much fun.

    Our weather has been erratic this month already too. We've had some really hot days and some wet and soggy days. I should get outside while the ground is loose and pull up weeds, but I'm already procrastinating and it's only early spring. ha.

      I am the same way! I had actually told my husband I was going to ignore our flower gardens entirely this year but then realized that if we're hosting a party next month I'd like our house to look its best so I sucked it up and did some weeding and cleaned out all the leaves and things that accumulated all winter long.

      That is the perfect amount; we get 1 or 2 day of sun and then temps drop a good 20 degrees and we get 4 or more days of rain so it definitely has not been ideal.

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Growing pains aired in 1985 which put me around age 8 and it stayed on the air until I was 15 or so; I'm pretty sure most people in my age group watched mostly for Kirk Cameron and all his antics.  I still have a soft spot for family sit-coms!  The Facts of Life aired when I was just 2  and stayed on the air until I was 11 so I'm sure the episodes I remember so fondly were either some of the later ones and then reruns shown later on when I was old enough to watch from the beginning. 10 on the 10th: 10 Things I May do in May

 It's time for the 10 on the 10th link up with Marsha and this month she's asked us to list 10 things we can and/or may do in May. 5 Things I CAN do now that it's May: 1. May is typically the time of year we CAN begin planting flowers and getting pots ready. I'm holding off until Memorial day weekend just in case we still have some cold frost-filled nights.  2. We CAN (sometimes!) eat outside now that May has arrived. We MAY have done that earlier this week for an early Mother's day lunch with my mom. And, no we did not plan our matching pink outfits. 3. I CAN finally enjoy some flowers blooming around the yard! (these are the only 3 plants blooming right now but I see buds and greenery on all the others too). 4. I CAN walk down the road to see my mom; the campground opens May first and while my parents haven't moved in just yet by the end of the month my mom will be at the campground most days and I love popping in to visit on my way back from picking up the

Share 4 Somethings in April

Tomorrow is the last Saturday of the month and time for Share 4 Somethings with Jennifer. This year we're sharing some things we've  loved and/or disliked, accomplished, some things we've improved upon and/or that need improvement, and noticed Loved/Disliked:  I know you are all probably sick of hearing me talking about it but I seriously had the best time meeting up these lovely ladies in Nashville. It was definitely a big highlight of the month!  I loved seeing mother nature put on a show this month too; we had the most incredible sunrise one day and, of course, seeing the eclipse was really neat too (even if we weren't in the path of totality). I disliked not having a car for most of the month. My car is less than 2 years old and has been in the shop for a couple of weeks while they fixed the flex hoses and muffler.
