A Thankful Thursday in May

I've been wanting to join in with Jennifer's Thankful Thursday link up for some time now but just never seem to get around to it. This week I made it a point to start a thankful post and add to it each day!

Just a few of the things I'm thankful for this past week:

  • Last Thursday we made reservations to eat at the restaurant that Alec's high school class runs. He was our waiter and while the food was really good I mostly loved that so much family came together in the middle of the day on a random Thursday. We all knew this would be the last time we'd eat there before he graduates.

My mother in law, husband, Alec (waiter), Me, my step father, Evan (and my mom was taking the picture)

I got the chicken, bacon ranch deep dish pizza (the only meal I ate all day!)

My husband and mother in law got a stir fry

My mom and step father got some lemon something chicken with pasta and kale salad.

  • Friday was Alec's prom and I was so thankful that I got to see not just him all dressed up but all his friends too! We had 3 of his friends at our house most of the day and it was so fun. They had a wonderful time at the prom and made the most of the photo booth with all the free photos they wanted.

  • Also on Friday, my husband and I went out for a dinner date. We headed back to Asados and had a delicious meal.

Homemade sourdough

seafood medley-- shrimp, scallops, and cod with butter wine sauce and breadcrumbs

I elected to get a double side of veggies

and then completely tossed my vow to "be good" out the window when I saw this tiramisu cheesecake

  • Saturday I was so thankful that the tux return was so quick and easy (since pick up had not been-- at all!)
  • Sunday I was just thankful that my husband and Ian made it home from their fishing trip-- apparently the seas had been really, really rough and while most people on the boat were sick all day it was Ian's throw away comment about his body being so sore from trying not to get tossed overboard all day that really struck home with me.
  • Monday it was sunny and near 80! (Finally!) I was so thankful for our wonderful weather. Evan and I went for a hike and then picked up plants for the front steps and hanging pots for our deck. I was to thankful for a nice day to get so much done.

One night thing about all the rain is that the rivers are nice and full

  • Tuesday was such a beautiful day and I spent most of it relaxing, reading a book, putting out garden decorations, etc. I was so thankful for a bit of downtime to just rest and relax in the sun.

  • Wednesday I was so Thankful for little things like the pretty flowers I picked up at the grocery store, for our sunny and warm weather, and for time to sit and read and relax.

  1. Glad you´ve had some great weather days to counterbalance the rain. But even rain brings good things like full rivers and lush grass. Your food pics all look so good! What a great restaurant experience at Alec´s school´s restaurant.
