Prime Purchases in February 2023

Why do I always feel so surprised when I go to write this post and see all my month's purchases laid out in one long list? I honesty thought we hadn't bought much at all this month but I, once again, see that I bought more than I thought I had.  I already know next months list will probably be long too; I'm hoping to start working on picking out Evan's schoolwork for next year and I want to buy a bunch of bins to organize our freezers. But enough about that; today is time for Prime Purchases with Tanya!

I finally broke down and ordered this blouse that I've been seeing on various blogs and I really like it. It's going to be a great blouse for spring with all the fun colors and I love the wide sleeves.

This blouse popped up as another suggestion and on a whim I decided to add that to my cart too and I just love it; the material, the style, and the color are just perfect for me.  It comes in a bunch of colors and I can see myself ordering another one or two..

Then finally this blouse; I love the lace detailing on the wide sleeves and the cute eyelet trim up the buttons too.

Alec needed some more lotion so I bought another bottle of this blood orange that he likes.

The boys also wanted some new shampoo and conditioner that didn't have any parabens or sulfates so I bought this coconut set for them to try... and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting them for myself as well once the ones I'm using run out.

They're going to try this body & face wash too; hopefully it won't aggravate their eczema

Evan and I are just about finished up with this Algebra 2 work and so I ordered some Geometry books for us to start on; hopefully these will be informative and do a good job explaining all the basic concepts.

Book 1

Book 2

We bought a 1/2 cow this month from a local farm and purchased a vacuum sealer on one of our BJ's trips to help prolong the freezer life of it (when vacuumed sealed in a chest freezer meat can last 2-3 years) but we needed some refills for it so I bought this set of 6.

We also bought a burger press (and made over 90 burgers!)

Finally I bought this set of cord organizers for all our kitchen appliances.

  2. Awesome purchases!! When I read you purchased half a cow - I won't share what my first thought was...lol! Then I realized to meant meat!! I had a chuckle. And the cord holders are a game changer....I have them on about every small kitchen appliance!!

  3. I love, love, love your first blouse. The colours are gorgeous. I just clicked but sadly it does not mail to my corner of the world. Thanks for sharing your purchases.

  4. I had a good month in February for not buying much. I will be making up for it in March. lol
Fantastic buys! Those blouses are so pretty and the vacuum sealer sound really useful. I had to re-read the sentence about you buying half a cow for it to make sense. lol

  6. I love the burger press. It looks very handy in making them all the same size - much better than the old fashioned one I used to have. 😂

    1. Yes, it was much easier to use and mad them all a nice uniform size.

  7. Cute tops! We did that one time: we purchases a half cow and then filled our freezer for at least six months. We talked about doing that again recently but never got back around to that. You had a good month for Amazon!

    1. We once bought what they call a mixed 1/4 cow... and that lasted us nearly 6 months so I'm thinking we should have beef for nearly a year but we'll see.

  8. Yes, I never think I buy much on Amazon either and then the bill shows up! I love all your blouses. The first one reminds me of a blouse I purchased at a store last year. I can't wait to wear it again this spring/summer.

  9. All the shirts are cute and I love the sleeves on that 2nd shirt. So cool to have bought half a cow. That will help for a while I would guess and will be fun to see recipes you make with the meat. Good purchases this month!

  10. We also put up lots of cow and deer every year. I need a hamburger press! That would definitely come in handy for us!

    1. Oh yes! Once we made the patties we froze them in single layers on cookie sheets for a few hours/overnight and then stacked them together with parchment paper in between so we can grab them out singly as needed nice and easy.

  11. I should probably look on amazon for shampoo etc for my boys! I like the shirts you got too.

    1. I find the all natural options are larger on Amazon than with what we can find locally.

  12. Do you use the Yuka app? My college age son was also concerned about what was in his products and I downloaded the app and now use it to scan products for toxins - so eye opening!! So many products that claim to be natural are actually full of chemicals.

  13. Such great buys! I might have to get the burger press, had one on my wish list for some time just never actually got one. The cord organizers seem so helpful too. Oh, and such pretty blouses! I need to see what I have for spring and summer. Still got my cashmere sweaters in the closet and I actually needed to wear one a couple of Saturdays ago. You never know with this weather. Supposed to be in the 70's today.

    1. Oh I am definitely wearing lots and lots of sweaters still (though I did pack away my thickest and my Christmas-y looking one away). We'll be wearing sweaters and sweatshirts for at least another month. We were happy it reached 50 yesterday.

  14. Your freezer must be super organized with the sealer and burger press. I had to rack my brain to remember what we used for math when we were homeschooling - it was Teaching Textbooks, great curriculum.

    1. Not as much as you might think; there is so much meat that it's pretty much all over the place! LOL.

  15. Well, you are also buying for a whole family, which makes sense why your list is long (although not as long as ours with this new house, haha).
I love those cord organizers. I'm putting that on my list.

  16. Such great buys! All your blouses look great and perfect for spring! That burger press looks so handy, I'll have to get one because I love burgers but don't like getting my hands all gooey when I make them.

Love the colors in your tops.

    1. Leftovers don't last long enough in our house to warrant using a vacuum sealer but I bet we'll use it again a lot in the summer when we have so much fresh produce to store and save for winter.

  20. Both of your new tops are really cute! If my closet weren't so full, I would be more tempted! We used to get a quarter of a cow from my mom for Christmas. It was a real boost to our grocery savings. We haven't bought beef in bulk for years though we still have a freezer (which is unplugged).

  23. Joanne,
I am not an Amazon shopper...Only when I get a gift card from my son...I prefer to see and touch what I buy first and I find them expensive and seem to get better deals in brick and mortar stores......I did get a chuckle out of the hamburger press as I still have the one O bought from tupperware before I got married 46 years ago and I also have the extra containers to store the made ones in including being able to freeze them....Thanks so much for stopping by!!
I hope you are having a great week!!

    1. We rarely get to brick and mortar stores and I can never find what I'm looking for in them anyway... so I have resorted to Amazon for most everything. I remember that Tupperware hamburger press! I to have one ages ago and when I couldn't find it anywhere bought this metal one. I have to admit I love it since I really don't have to press down much at all. We made well over 90 burgers this time.. and ran out of places/ways to freeze them! I wanted (and managed to) freeze them in single layers on cookie sheets overnight before stacking them together in Ziploc bags so that we can still pull out burgers individually when we need or want to.

  24. Thanks for the tip on the cord organizers - they seem like they would work better than my current method of using worn out hair elastics! Ha!
