Currently in March (2024)

It's the first Wednesday of the month and time for the Currently link up with Jennifer at Overflowing with Thankfulness.  This month we're talking about what we're currently loving, looking forward to, planning, wearing, and eating.

Loving: Our weather has been fabulous this week so we shortened our school days by 1 subject and went on some nice long hikes.

Looking forward to: We have Alec's parent/player meeting tonight and while I am NOT looking forward to sitting through another one of those I am looking forward to the start of track and field and watching him perform for his last year.

Throwback photo from last year

Planning: Evan and I spent the week planning out his curriculum for next year.. looks like 11th grade will be a fairly fun and easy one!

Wearing: New blouses with cardigans.

Eating: Lots of fresh, healthy vegetables and a few lean proteins thrown in.

Salmon with squash/apples with a salad

Assorted veggies with omelet

Salad with a Boca Chik'n patty

Salad, veggies, and a baked potato

Veggies with sweet potato

Jennifer Aniston's salad (recipe from Holly/ Pink Lady)

  7. I need to start doubling up on veggies! I keep going back and forth with my eating habits: I love my salads but then will revert to sandwiches (and not even the good bread).

    1. LOL! I do love salads but this time of year I do seem to pass them up for cooked/hot veggies more often.

  9. It's so beautiful in the spring in your area and perfect for those walks/hikes. I love your outfits and I will have to order the Lily top. I've seen it on some other bloggers and it's perfect for spring. I just wish the sun would come out and less rain! LOL. Enjoy the rest of the week.

    1. Thank you! We could do with a little less rain too; we're finding lots of trees uprooting themselves on all our hikes lately.

    1. He loves it! He's been working on discus and javelin all 3 years up to now and plans to compete in those same two events this year too.

  11. Great idea on the sqush/apples. I have some butternut cubes I need to use this week (and apples, too!) So, you know what I'll be making!

  12. I'm looking forward to some hikes this spring. We've had so much rain lately that we haven't been out as much as we normally are this time of year. It's good to hike here now and into spring before the humidity gets too crazy. I hope your son enjoys his year. I come from a family of serious runners, but sadly am not one myself. Have a great rest of the week!

    1. We've had lots of rain too so everything is pretty muddy but it's still fun to get out when it's not raining. Alec would have loved to compete in running but he's had such joint problems each year that he's decided to just stick to field events-- javelin and discus so he doesn't ruin his knees and ankles.
