Talking About It Tuesdays #8

Today's a big day for both my younger boys! My youngest is testing for his driver's license this morning and while I know he couldn't care less about passing or driving I really hope he does well so I can just be DONE with teaching driving... it's my least favorite subject.  

My middle son is preparing for his huge SCAP dinner (Senior Culinary Arts Project) that he has to serve tomorrow morning; I'll have many more details and hopefully lots of yummy looking photos to share later in the week since we get to sample his menu.  I just know he's so nervous about everything going well both today and tomorrow since this is a HUGE portion of their grade. I know he's got the skills to pull it off though.   

Both of them seem way less nervous than I feel but I think that's a good thing.  Meanwhile I'll try to put it all out my head and focus on our fun party.  Thank you all for linking up with us each week; keep the fun content coming!

      Thank you! Evan passed and we'll see how Alec's meal turns out today; I can't wait. I'm sure even if everything doesn't go according to plan it will still taste delicious.

      I can't fault him, I never wanted mine either and waited until I was nearly 18 to get it... with a giant nudge from my own parents so he's got me beat getting his at nearly 16 1/2 (the earliest they can get their license in our state).

    Good luck to them! My youngest was not interested in or excited about driving at all, which was so strange to me! I couldn't wait to drive. I still enjoy driving and he still doesn't, so I guess that's just how it is. ha Thanks for hosting the linkup! Have a great week.

      I never wanted my license either and don't really enjoy driving so I get where he was coming from. I keep telling him he'll grow to like it if only for the freedom it will give him.

      I don't think he'll want to (or even get to) drive often since all our cars are usually occupied by his older brothers but at least he can if he needs to!

      Aw, thank you! We did have to wait nearly 3 hours beyond Evan's appointment time but he passed his test and I was just so glad to have that milestone behind us.

    I hope both your sons do well! My son did not drive until he was in his early 20s, He rode a bicycle most of the college years. He's a wonderful driver now. He's also a wonderful cook and cooks dinner almost every night for his family. Valuable skills!

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. Friday Favorites: Girls Trip to Nashville Days 1 & 2

By far my favorite part of the week was my girl's trip to the Nashville/Franklin area of Tennessee!  Last Friday I landed in Nashville, Tennessee around 3 pm after an easy morning commute and flight (made so easy because I had no car and my mom drove me to the airport dropping me off curbside). I was meeting up with some blogging friends in real life:  Marilyn from Memphis Bridges,   Jennifer from Overflowing with Thankfulness,  and Tanya from The Other Side of the Road.   By the time I had even picked up my bags I had gotten a text from Marilyn and Jennifer that they were parking the car.  We met up in baggage claim and they had made the cutest welcome sigh for both me and Tanya.  We had a few minutes before meeting up with Tanya and then headed to our rental house in Franklin.  It was adorable and in a lovely little quiet area.  Tanya brought a cute little gift bag of goodies for each of us; seriously these ladies are just the sweetest and I am so, so glad I decided to fly off

10 on the 10th: 10 Things I May do in May

 It's time for the 10 on the 10th link up with Marsha and this month she's asked us to list 10 things we can and/or may do in May. 5 Things I CAN do now that it's May: 1. May is typically the time of year we CAN begin planting flowers and getting pots ready. I'm holding off until Memorial day weekend just in case we still have some cold frost-filled nights.  2. We CAN (sometimes!) eat outside now that May has arrived. We MAY have done that earlier this week for an early Mother's day lunch with my mom. And, no we did not plan our matching pink outfits. 3. I CAN finally enjoy some flowers blooming around the yard! (these are the only 3 plants blooming right now but I see buds and greenery on all the others too). 4. I CAN walk down the road to see my mom; the campground opens May first and while my parents haven't moved in just yet by the end of the month my mom will be at the campground most days and I love popping in to visit on my way back from picking up the
