Cards and Scrapbook Pages from January & February

 I didn't make any scrapbook pages at all in January but I did get a good handful of cards made. I've been making sure to join in the Card Chain Challenge group each month, then I wanted to get my Valentine cards made, I had a  and a few birthday cards as well.









In February I focused on learning a few new card making techniques.  The first card was made using sandpaper, embossing folders, and some designer series paper.  The second two cards were made using a double embossed sheet of vellum; the two cards have slightly different looks due to what color embossing I placed upright. 


I finished up ALL my scrapbook through the end of November and ordered prints of our photos for Dec- mid February. I already have quite a few ideas for those cruise photos!

      Aw, thank you! Each month our Card Chain Challenge gives us a color palette, a design idea, or a choice of techniques to try and I almost always pick the color choices like I did for that card.

    You are amazing, Joanne! These cards are just stunning! I wish I'd been smart enough to create scrapbooks of our family vacations. Now, I have lots of photos and no idea of when we went other than looking at the kids to see how old they looked!

    Oh my goodness! These are all just gorgeous. When I did paper scrapbooking (I do digital now), I always saved leftovers to make cards. I still have some supplies (because they NEVER run out--ha ha), so I made cards with my daughter a couple of weeks ago when she was having a rough time. Spending that time being creative together was just delightful. Thanks for sharing what you've created! Visiting from Talking About it Tuesdays.

    Years ago I used to make cards and other items such as wall hangings or welcome signs using stamps. Your cards especially brought back memories of that time. I especially liked the ice cream cone birthday card! Maine looks like a beautiful state to visit. I hope to get to the East Coast for a little sight seeing and travel. Friday Favorites: Girls Trip to Nashville Days 1 & 2

By far my favorite part of the week was my girl's trip to the Nashville/Franklin area of Tennessee!  Last Friday I landed in Nashville, Tennessee around 3 pm after an easy morning commute and flight (made so easy because I had no car and my mom drove me to the airport dropping me off curbside). I was meeting up with some blogging friends in real life:  Marilyn from Memphis Bridges,   Jennifer from Overflowing with Thankfulness,  and Tanya from The Other Side of the Road.   By the time I had even picked up my bags I had gotten a text from Marilyn and Jennifer that they were parking the car.  We met up in baggage claim and they had made the cutest welcome sigh for both me and Tanya.  We had a few minutes before meeting up with Tanya and then headed to our rental house in Franklin.  It was adorable and in a lovely little quiet area.  Tanya brought a cute little gift bag of goodies for each of us; seriously these ladies are just the sweetest and I am so, so glad I decided to fly off

Day in the Life: Friday Favorites

 I decided to document last Friday for today's Friday Favorites post. I hardly ever document a day in the life anymore now that my boys are grown and mostly on their own. But I knew we had a pretty full day and thought it might be fun.  These are some of my favorite posts to read and I think I did a pretty great job remembering to document and take pictures for the whole day! 5:00 wake up and I allow myself to blog, read emails, etc. until 5:30 5:30 get up, get dressed for the gym, put away my laundry from the night before, make the bed. 5:45 head downstairs to make Alec's lunch (1/2 way though he came to the balcony to tell me he wasn't going to school since he wasn't feeling well-- he's 18 and allowed to make this call himself).  I decided to make a salad, some chicken salad, hard boil some eggs, and cut up all the fruit since we had just done groceries after dinner last night and none of that had been done yet. I emptied, reloaded, and restarted the dishwasher.

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Growing pains aired in 1985 which put me around age 8 and it stayed on the air until I was 15 or so; I'm pretty sure most people in my age group watched mostly for Kirk Cameron and all his antics.  I still have a soft spot for family sit-coms!  The Facts of Life aired when I was just 2  and stayed on the air until I was 11 so I'm sure the episodes I remember so fondly were either some of the later ones and then reruns shown later on when I was old enough to watch from the beginning.
