Wordless Wednesday: Finishing Up Fall in New England

With my last Wordless Wednesday post on October 18th I shared some of the beautiful fall views we had been enjoying.  We were so lucky to have some really lovely weather this fall and while the leaves are pretty much all down now I had a few weeks worth of hikes and photos left to share.

  7. These photos are beautiful! It was interesting to notice how lovely the at-first-glance "plain, boring brown" of a bare tree looks against the brilliance of a bright blue sky - the subtle varieties in color and texture of the tree are actually quite nice when you pay attention.

    1. Lovely! We put all our deck/patio furniture away for the winter so I don't really get to sit out there anymore.

  13. It looks like you have lots of different varieties of trees to give you so many different colors. How far do you have to drive to most of these places? They are all so beautiful. Thanks for sharing them.

    1. For our daily hikes we try to keep the drive to under/around 30 minutes (which is what all of these photos are). If we're meeting friends or meeting up with our hiking group we might drive 45mins to an hour but so far that has not been happening this fall as it seems to rain every time we have a hike scheduled.

  15. Hi Joanne, those are such beautiful photos! Fall (or Autumn as we call it here) is my favourite time of year. I adore the colours and love Autumn leaves. We don't get much of that here in tropical Queensland so I often travel south to colder states to experience it and enjoy it. Thanks so much for linking up with #WWWhimsy Have a fabulous week!

    1. Thank you. We had a really wet fall so on those days the sun was shining our colors really did pop.

  25. I love all the photographs! I miss our lovely trees and colors. *sniff* They are all naked and sad right now. Ha. My kids say we need some snow to make them pretty again and while I am not a fan of that s word...I have to agree.

    1. Thank you! Ours are all naked and sad now too and while I feel the same way about the "s" word I too can't argue that it sure does make the landscape look prettier.
