Birthday Ready with Ageless Style

It's the third Thursday of the month and time for another ageless style challenge.  This month Marsha picked Birthday Party Attire in honor of her birthday.  I thought that sounded like such a fun and easy prompt!

I decided not to overthink it and just wear an outfit I would wear to a birthday party.  In our family, parties aren't a huge deal and we often just have a small get together at the house.  We are a pretty casual family so we don't dress up. 


This time of year I'd normally wear a sweater with some jeans so that's what I did.  I paired this new black sweater I had gotten over the summer with an old pair of jeans and some new black boots. 




Here is a photo of an actual outfit I wore in August to my mother in law's birthday party.. even then I was wearing a sweater and jeans!

    You did what I almost did, then I switched it at the last minute. Birthday parties aren't a big deal for us either, so I normally just wear regular clothes. You look very cozy and ready for fall.

    What a great spot for pictures! We don't do much for birthdays anymore, but we do eat well and have some gifts. I like to wear something colorful for birthdays most of the time. This sweater is going to be so versatile this winter. I would work great with those skirts you need to pull back out!

    Perfect. Jeans and a sweater would work for most anything we do. I did look back and for the granddaughters' birthdays, I have dressed up a little but not always. Kind of depends where we are going and what we are doing at the party. I am thinking the 75th bday party we are attending next week might be a little fancier. Need to talk with the other gals to see what they are wearing.

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? Dollar Store Candy Cane Wreath

Things That Make Me Laugh

I loved the challenge of this week's list for our 26 lists link up.  I don't know about you but I really need to laugh more lately.  It's such a great stress reliever. 1.  Books-- I love a good funny book that makes me laugh out loud.  I haven't read one in a while but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.  The last book I can remember making me laugh was the Un-Honeymooners. 2  The boys being silly. 3.  Watching shows like America's Funniest Videos or Family Feud. 4. My husband.  Most people don't realize it but he's actually pretty funny and often makes me laugh. 5.  Whenever my sisters/ family get together and we get to reminiscing (particularly if my Aunt Elaine is around) we end up laughing so hard at all the old family stories that we are all in tears by the end of the night.  It's fabulous. 6.  Since the 10th falls on a Sunday this month (and I don't blog on the weekends) I thought I'd share my 10 on the 10th a bit early. I love that it also coincides with Friday Favorites since Marsha's 10 on the 10th is often one of my favorite prompts to answer.  Rather than asking us specific questions this month, Marsha has asked us to share 10 things we like to do or eat in November. I thought I'd actually share 10 of each! What's Up Wednesday in November

It's the last Wednesday of the month and that means it's time for What's Up Wednesday. This will be my last post of the month but I'll be back on Monday the 2nd with some of my favorite Prime Purchases of the year.  What We're Eating: Sunday: Steak (and tofu) stir-fry over rice Monday: Weight Watcher's American Chop Suey  with salad Tuesday: Crock pot Philly cheesesteak grinders with chips and salad Wednesday: Pumpkin pancakes with fruit and bacon Thursday: Our menu hasn't changed since 2020..Though we will sub out the crescent rolls for some homemade bread/rolls that Alec's cooking up for us.  Friday: Leftover turkey pie Saturday: One of our favorite soup recipes; though I'm not sure which one yet!
