Wearing Demin in Summer with Ageless Style

It's the third Thursday of the month and time for another ageless style challenge.  This month Jodie picked summer denim for our theme.  

I have quite a few ways I wear denim for summer! For today's post I'm concentrating on this outfit I just wore earlier in the week to a wildlife sanctuary.  I wore some denim capri pants with my new Kimono and a pale pink tee.  I love my new kimono and think it pairs perfectly with denim!







One of my favorites is this halter style denim tank.  I pair it with everything!  




 I love wearing my denim jacket with maxi dresses or even my shorts for those cooler mornings and evenings. 



I got these denim pants for my birthday and have been wearing them whenever I get the chance.
 


And I have a few pairs of denim shorts that I wear all summer long too.

      It is perfect for summer; the only time I did not like it at all was when we went to Universal Studios and I got soaked on a water ride. LOL

    Lots of great denim looks! Love the look of denim jackets with a dress but somehow they never feel right on me. I've tried many over the years but they just don't seem to be "me" so I've (almost) given up on them, maybe I'll try a different color of denim.

    My favorite pants and capris are denim as everything seems to go with them. I prefer dark denim as it is slimming and I need all that help I can get...lol

    I live in denim of one kind or another most of time. It's so versatile and comfortable. Your outfits look very nice. I especiall like the denim halter with the long print skirt.

    I like all of your denim outfits! I wear denim capris in the summer. Dress them up with nice shirts and sandals for evening and dates, t-shirts and tennis shoes for casual.

    You have lots of denim options in your life! I definitely think that a good denim jacket is a must have and is such a great layering pieces in spring, summer and fall. I love it paired with your maxi dress.

    You wear halters so well. I think you have several and I like all of them so much. I feel waaay to heavy on top to wear them and a lot of other cute top styles. I think they show off your pretty shoulders!!

    LOVE that kimono. I followed your link and have shared with my kimono loving youngest daughter. She is short but loves wearing kimonos just needs shorter ones to better fit her frame. That pink is just adorable. So feminine.

Friday Favorites: Girls Trip to Nashville Days 1 & 2

By far my favorite part of the week was my girl's trip to the Nashville/Franklin area of Tennessee!  Last Friday I landed in Nashville, Tennessee around 3 pm after an easy morning commute and flight (made so easy because I had no car and my mom drove me to the airport dropping me off curbside). Day in the Life: Friday Favorites

 I decided to document last Friday for today's Friday Favorites post. I hardly ever document a day in the life anymore now that my boys are grown and mostly on their own. But I knew we had a pretty full day and thought it might be fun.  These are some of my favorite posts to read and I think I did a pretty great job remembering to document and take pictures for the whole day! 5:00 wake up and I allow myself to blog, read emails, etc. until 5:30 5:30 get up, get dressed for the gym, put away my laundry from the night before, make the bed. 5:45 head downstairs to make Alec's lunch (1/2 way though he came to the balcony to tell me he wasn't going to school since he wasn't feeling well-- he's 18 and allowed to make this call himself).  I decided to make a salad, some chicken salad, hard boil some eggs, and cut up all the fruit since we had just done groceries after dinner last night and none of that had been done yet. I emptied, reloaded, and restarted the dishwasher.

Favorite TV Shows Growing Up in the 80's and early 90's

Do you remember the TGIF lineups on Friday nights? I can remember planning sleepovers and time with friends around TV Show lineups of our favorite shows... or else trying to set the VCR to record our favorite shows if we weren't going to be home. And through the years I had SO MANY favorites! Growing pains aired in 1985 which put me around age 8 and it stayed on the air until I was 15 or so; I'm pretty sure most people in my age group watched mostly for Kirk Cameron and all his antics.  I still have a soft spot for family sit-coms!  The Facts of Life aired when I was just 2  and stayed on the air until I was 11 so I'm sure the episodes I remember so fondly were either some of the later ones and then reruns shown later on when I was old enough to watch from the beginning.
