My Favorite Dystopian Novels

Today's post is short and sweet, in talking about some of my favorite books and dividing them by genres I knew I had to include dystopian novels.  I just love them! I honestly thought this post was going to include quite a few more books than it does; maybe because most of my favorite dystopian novels are series it felt like I had read far more than just the 5 listed here? I don't know but I do know these were all great.

However, I do love dystopian novels so if you have some suggestions I'm all ears!

1. Hunger Games Series

2. Matched Series

3. Divergent Series

4. The Testing

5. The Giver-- While this is part of a series also I have only read the 1st book in the series.  I'm pretty sure I started reading the second and just didn't like it as much.

  6. The Giver was the very first one that came to mind for me when I saw the title of your post. I read that growing up and I loved it.

    1. I thought I had read it years ago when I was in school but then when I was helping Alec with a school project on it his freshman year I couldn't remember much about it so I picked it up at our library to read (or perhaps read again?! I still wasn't sure even after I finished).

    1. LOL. My son read the books of the Hunger Games AFTER watching the movies when my husband and I were trying to fill him in on all the other little details the movies left out.

  15. This genre is not one my favorites but The Giver and The Hunger Games trilogy are favorite books. I felt the same way about the sequel to The Giver. Not sure I even got it finished. And that is often how I feel about books in a series. The first one will be sooooo good and the following books will be disappointments. But not so with The Hunger Games. Will check out the other suggestions you made. Maybe I will find some new dystopian novels to love.

  16. The only two books I haven't read are The Giver and The Testing Trilogy. I enjoyed the other three series.
