January's Prime Purchases
I hope no one minds but I decided to cull through all my Prime Purchases from November and December and showcase a sort of the "best of" of both months. The majority of my orders for both months were Christmas gifts and I think I really outdid myself this year!
I fully admit that many of the "gifts" were for myself but they are all keepers.
Alec wanted a small/slim plain watch that did not have all the smart watch features so he could use it at school and when working in the kitchen. We found this one and he really likes it.
My husband and I have been talking about getting a counter top ice cube maker for over a year now so I finally bit the bullet and ordered the GE Opal and we just love it! It does take up A LOT of counter space but we haven't run out of ice once yet since it arrived.
We bought my husband a set of kabob grilling baskets that I think will work well this summer for making kabobs (we always have a problem of the vegetables we use falling off ours since I prefer zucchini and summer squash to things like onions and green pepper.
I bought myself this lace extender for wearing under sweaters and I like that it's both cute and comfy/soft.
I'm still not sure how I feel about these velvet jogging/harem pants. I love how soft they are but I am really struggling to style them in a flattering way.
We bought this Yeti tumbler as a gift for my mom; she likes the idea of a Yeti but complained but they're all so large so this smaller tumbler is more the size of a traditional water bottle. I thought she'd really like this pretty color too.
My husband has been working outside and it has been so cold that he wanted to try these lined working pants and he loves them so much he wants to order a few new pairs.
That combined with these thermal pants (under his traditional work pants) he should be good for the rest of the winter.
Speaking of keeping warm, I bought myself another pair of fleece lined leggings; I only had one pair of these in black and I found I was doing laundry a few times a week just to wear them.
We also bought this rechargeable electric hand warmer for my mother in law (she walks outside A LOT regardless of weather) and she has been raving about this. Claims it was one of the best gifts ever.
Alec has been wanting to try making his own macarons and needed a mat to cook them on. He wanted one with ridges for easier measuring and we found this one. He can not wait to try it out!
Alec asked for lots and lots of books for Christmas (seriously between us, and all of his grandparents I think he got around 3 dozen new books to read; if not more!). He was really excited that we found this boxed set for him since he had only asked for the first two books in the series. But Alec just loves anything having to do with mythology so I knew he'd like them all.
We've been trying out this microwave popcorn maker and really like how quick and easy it is to have freshly popped popcorn without all the chemicals in just minutes. It collapses for easy storage too.
Finally, I broke down and bought the Kindle Paperwhite after hearing from several other readers and bloggers that the screen is glare free for reading out in the sun and that it's also waterproof. That makes it perfect for poolside/ lakeside/ beachside reading! (Which is the only thing I ever use my Kindle for anyway).

We have that same Yeti and love it! The size is perfect.

My younger two boys have that size and they do like it a lot.
DeleteYou had some great purchases! I'm intrigued by the hand warmer...I have several people in my life who would love that. I am going to make a note for a gift for them for the next birthday or Christmas. I love your lace extender! I have a long sleeveless tunic that I use for that kind of thing...I always think the layering look is cute. Have a great day, my friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteI have that Yeti bottle - it's so great! The handwarmer sounds awesome, too.
ReplyDeleteI want to order one for myself now.
DeleteYou always find the best Amazon stuff! I bet you are loving that ice maker and that it helps you drink more water. That kind of ice is so good!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am loving those ice cubes so much.
DeleteOooo that ice maker is always on my wish list! I just need to figure out where to put it. Enjoy!! Sarah @ Sunshine & Books
ReplyDeleteIt does take up a lot of room... and we had to move things around on our countertop a few times but I do love it.
DeleteI have been thinking of getting an ice maker like that but I have no idea where I would put it. Not sure that I want the "commitment" of having it out on the counter but I could change my mind about that. We have a similar small microwave popcorn maker. The kids love it for a quick snack (though they go through waves and right now they're all on the chemical laden microwave popcorn wave ;() You had many great purchases. Hope your Monday is a good one!!
ReplyDeleteIt does take up an awful lot of counter space... BUT I love it!
DeleteI love lace extenders and those kabob baskets are so awesome. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try out the kabob baskets.
DeleteThat Yeti looks like a great size!
ReplyDeleteIt is a perfect size and I love that it fits in all standard cup holders too.
DeleteMy husband would love the ice maker but we have no room for it anywhere so it's lucky he doesn't know they exist LOL. I need to look into the rechargeable hand warmers. They would be absolutely perfect for when I have to stand in the cold playground during the winter months.
ReplyDeleteRuth@playworkeatrepeat
My mother in law said they last her 2 hours so it would work well for the playground!
DeleteThat ice maker is so tempting! Let me know if you think it ended up being a good investment- I am toying with that idea!
ReplyDeleteSo far we are really enjoying it; but I haven't had to clean it yet so we'll see.. :)
DeleteMy friend has a countertop ice maker and absolutely loves it.
ReplyDeleteIt is fabulous!
DeleteHappy new year Joanne. The fleece lined leggings sound great for the winter. You got a lot of great items from Amazon.
ReplyDeleteThey are so nice and warm; perfect for our winter hikes.
DeleteLots of great gifts....and good ideas! Your lace extender looks cute. I tried one once that went under skirts - that was a total fail. Your outfits are always super cute (I'm sure that helps!) Have a great week -
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI bought my mom a rechargeable hand warmer as well. That ice maker looks so fun and would inspire to use more ice, ha!
ReplyDeleteWe empty that bucket at least twice a day!
DeleteYou found some great things! Off to check out that Yeti and the grilling baskets.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteSo many great finds! I bet the ice maker is so nice, and I'm putting the popcorn maker on my list. Thanks so much for linking up with Prime Purchases! Tanya - The Other Side of the Road
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for hosting!
DeleteI've never seen a yeti tumbler...looks like the perfect gift. I wish we had the counter space for the ice maker. I know those are a hit!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, they make Yetis in all styles and sizes (or so it seems).
DeleteI hate short shirts I need to look into the lace extender I really like that.
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect for those tops that just don't feel long enough.
DeleteI'd never heard of that hand warmer. Hmmmmm. Sounds like something even my mom would like.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried the joggers with a lower shoe?? Sometimes, that can make a difference.
XOXO
Jodie
I tried them with my canvas slip- on shoes and even barefoot a time or two; I should have known better since I really just do not like the jogger style but I was hoping the fact that they were velvet would help me like them more.
DeleteI think I may need to get those kabob things. I love them but hate the actual skewering! And, the lace extender...I've been thinking I need one of those (though most things aren't that long on me)!
ReplyDeletehttps://marshainthemiddle.com/
Yes! I hate skewering them too; I'm hoping the baskets will make that so much easier.
DeleteYeah, I bought a lot of gifts for myself too, ha! Love a fleece legging (I'm always cold), so I'll have to check those out! I recently got a great pair of fleece-lined joggers from Target (that were in the pj section, but we're just going to overlook that, HA!).
ReplyDeleteI'm almost always cold too (and I've totally worn things that were in the pj's section as "real" clothes before!).
DeleteLove that lace extender! Any time I can get more coverage I take it. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteWhat great buys. I love the idea of the ice cube maker and the fleece lined leggings. I could do with some of them with the weather we've been having.
ReplyDeleteOurs has been surprisingly mild for us this time of year but definitely still cool enough for fleece lined leggings. :)
DeleteThere is an ice maker built into the basement bar when we moved in. I thought it was excessive, but I can't believe how much we use it! It's nice to have for sure! The handwarmer works wonders as well. My daughter and I always use it when we go out Girl Scout cookie selling. The kabob grilling baskets look great!
ReplyDeleteI thought my husband was crazy this summer when he mentioned getting this countertop one... but I admit that I am loving it!
DeleteI really want an ice maker and might have to get one in 2023. Also, have you ever had an ereader? I find that I read about 95% of my books on my Kobo now.
ReplyDeleteI have never had an e-reader just my old Kindle Fire; I can't believe how light this e-reader is!
DeleteThose thermal pants would be great for my husband, he's a firefighter! Great list!
ReplyDeleteYes, I bet they would be great for him.
DeleteThose kabob baskets look really cool. Need to check those out.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try them out!
DeleteI really like the microwave popcorn popper. I usually make it on the stove and this would be so much easier and cleaner. I hope Alec has good luck with the macaroons. We've tried a couple times and they didn't come out very good but I found some at Aldi's and they're delish! :)
ReplyDeleteHe's made them once or twice in school but it will definitely be our first time trying to make them on our own!
