Currently.. in December

It's the first Wednesday of the month and time to join Jennifer from Overflowing with Thankfulness for her Currently series.  Each month Jennifer gives us 4 prompts and we fill in what we're currently...

loving-- I am loving all the twinkling lights of the season.  We put up 4 trees this year and I have lit garland in a few rooms as well as my light up village and it makes me so happy to go around and turn them all on each afternoon.

gifting-- Our families decided years ago to only swap gifts with the kids but I do like to make or buy just a tiny little something for the adults.  Some years I make cookie tins for each family, some years I break out my Cricut and make some things; this year I decided to gift little Bath and Bodyworks baskets with candles, soap, lotion, and bath gel.  I figured it's a gift the whole family can enjoy.

wrapping-- ALL the gifts!  I've wrapped everything that's in the house so far but I still have a few gifts on order that haven't arrived yet.

It was so fun wrapping by the light of the tree!

hoping -- These Christmas bills don't give my husband a heart attack... seriously I am doing so bad this year! I mean I'm finding great deals and I finished my shopping early but I swear at every single store it was like adding 1 thing for a family member and 3 things for myself. LOL.

attending-- Nothing. We have zero parties and obligations on our list this year up until Christmas with the families all of which are the week of Christmas (mostly Christmas eve and Christmas day). But we have a wide open calendar this whole month and I'm okay with that.

  1. Your trees are all so pretty and festive! I don't think anyone ever regrets putting up multiple trees ;). How thoughtful to give the families a gift even though you don't do an adult gift exchange. We just have a couple of birthday parties this month- not a lot of Christmas events until the week of Christmas for us either.

  3. I love those trees! There is something so mesmerizing about twinkling lights. This is why I leave my mantel lights up all year. I laughed when you said you'd add one thing for a member in your family and three for yourself...I have found myself doing that at times as well! I just keep thinking I'll treat myself. This always ends up being the month I buy clothes for myself as well. Go figure! Thanks for joining in with us today!

  4. The downside of shopping early is that I get more ideas as time goes on LOL. I need to get wrapping to see what I have. My husband is so hard to shop for, if not impossible!! But he says the same about me :)
Your Christmas lights look so pretty!

    1. Yes, I have to stop looking or else I just buy more gifts. My husband is usually pretty hard but this year he actually made up a wishlist for us.

  10. I love your twinkling lights, Joanne! I have gifts in boxes waiting to be wrapped. That is really early for me. I have been known to not wrap gifts until Christmas Eve!

    1. Oh wow; we've already celebrated with 1/2 the family by Christmas eve (plus I have 3 families worth of gifts I already had to mail out this week) so I always start early... but prioritize those we'll see first.

  13. Your trees and decorations are beautiful! How funny that you are so content with a wide open calendar, but I'm finding it hard to have nothing on my calendar for the month. ;-) I'm also hoping that we don't regret all the spending we're doing these days - new furniture and household things are wonderful, but the bills are adding up quickly!

    1. Oh they really do have a way of piling up quickly don't they?! It's so hard especially when it's something you feel like you truly need-- like furniture!!

  15. I so have to get wrapping! Love that you’re wrapping with The Holiday—what a perfect scene along with the tree! Definitely hear you on the “buying one gift for someone else and three for myself”—I have been buying everything that isn’t nailed down! Oh well haha.
