Prime Purchases in October

Most of our Amazon orders this past month were part of our subscribe and save orders; things like shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, etc. that I have on auto delivery every few weeks (or months depending on what it is and how long it lasts).  You can read more about our subscribe and save items here.

However, we did have a 1/2 dozen or so things that weren't part of our regular orders.

Ian needed some waterproof gear for deep sea fishing (and we bought my husband a new pair of the rain pants as well).  Since both my guys tend to work outside year round this gear will come in handy for more than just fishing.

Here Ian is wearing his pants while fishing.

They both love these Helly -Hansen pants

Since we couldn't find the waterproof Carhartt coat we were looking for we decided to try the Helly-Hansen coat for Ian too and he said it worked great keeping him dry at work one day when it was really raining hard.

We haven't had a hand mixer in years but Alec and I are always searching for one so I finally decided to just buy one while I was thinking of it.  I'm sure it will come in handy with all our holiday baking. I loved this pretty teal one!

I finished up my fall puzzle in just a few days and was on the hunt for a new one. I thought this canal puzzle was so pretty and the pieces are nice and thick and not too small either.

I'm putting together a "gadget" basket for my step-father for Christmas.  I ordered him a digital grill thermometer (we have this one and love it), a 2-pack wireless key finder and I have plans for at least 3 other items.. that I probably should make sure to buy this coming month!

And speaking of the holidays I bought this light strand for our mantle (right now it's mixed in with our pumpkin garland) but I'll use it for Christmas decorating too!  I was also all out of tissue paper so I bought this 200 pack

  1. My husband and I are watching a show on Netflix that takes place in Maine. So many characters on the show wear the rain pants like what you bought. I was just thinking that so few people around here would purchase those types of pants because we have no big bodies of water nearby. It's interesting to see what people buy based on the topography of the area where they live. I will have to read your post on subscription item purchases through Amazon. I have never done subscriptions with Amazon.

    1. I never thought of it quite like that but you are so right! We do have such different purchases based on our topography.

  2. Just grabbed tissue paper yesterday too- went with red because I have some white gift bags and thought that would look festive and those lights are adorable!

  6. Love those tiles!! Joanne I am in awe of your puzzle solving. When I was a kid, my mother gave me a playschool puzzle with 6 pieces. I got an F in puzzles. I kept telling my mother the puzzle was broken. I'm not so sure I could put it together now! Have a great week.

  9. And, this is why I don't have Prime! It's just too easy to find stuff that is cute but necessary! I don't need a new hand mixer, but I'd definitely be tempted by that teal one!

  11. I love those lights! And I'll have to check out that mixer. Ours basically only has one speed - HIIIIIGH - so I need something better that actually has a low setting that works. Lol.

    1. Our old one had broken beaters and I had to get rid of it but never replaced it! And each time we needed the hand mixer we spent forever searching through the kitchen for it. I really like this one and it has so many speed to choose from.

  15. Like 10 years ago, I was really into baking (just boxed cake stuff), and my aunt got me a hand mixer for my birthday, and I LOVED that thing! In my heart, it was a Kitchen Aid Standing Mixer, haha. Your blue one is prettier than mine, though, I must say!
