I was so excited to see that Jennifer from Overflowing with Thanksgiving was taking over this fun linky. Each month she gives us prompts to think about and it's a fun little post to put together.

anticipating-- With our big weekend away behind us I've already set my sights on our next vacation in the spring-- to Acadia National park!  We nearly made a quick day trip up to Acadia this past weekend but I was torn between saving the entire park for the spring or enjoying a day in fall.  We ended up deciding to explore closer to our hotel but it was a tough call.

We already have reservations here in their little carriage house

admiring-- All the beautiful fall foliage we have around us right now.  We got to enjoy some really lovely views in Maine complete with water and bridges, and pretty leaves.

spending/consuming--
We spent lots of money on food (seafood and ice cream mainly!) and some clothing while up in Maine.  We hit both the Kittery outlets (on our way up) and the Freeport outlets (on our way back down).. and I snagged a few new things that I am loving.

These new hiking pants are so cozy and lined!

wanting-- For time to slow down just a bit.  We're in this real sweet spot of time with the boys where they're all still home most of the time and want to be.  They're busy but not too busy and I just know I'm going to blink and they'll all be gone (either away at college or just busy with their own lives).

purging/deleting-- I've been trying to purge items from my closet as I switch out my clothes from spring/summer to fall/winter.

How about you?

  2. Thanks for linking up! That trip to Maine sounds AMAZING and that lobster roll.....oh my stars. I ate so much lobster while I was in Cape Cod! I have zero regrets. ZERO! I think all of us are saying the same thing about our closets- we're all cleaning them out. Have a wonderful day!

  3. Love these kinds of posts, and a glimpse into your life. Your vacay sounds amazing and the seafood had me dreaming of the coast. Also, I am feeling the passing of time really hard this year. I mentioned to someone that this past summer for the first time I felt that as I am getting older, time seems to be going by quicker. I too just want to hold on to the girls a little bit longer as I see the transitions happening faster and faster.

  5. I've had Acadia NP on my bucket list for a few years but it's so far from here and we always seem to end up either going west or South East. It looks like such a beautiful place!
I've switched over to my fall wardrobe last weekend and been getting rid of things I kept hanging onto in totes in the basement. I've done a color analysis of what shades work with my skin tone and am getting rid of others. Good luck with your purging!!

  12. I've been trying to purge some clothing but it's hard because I like everything I have. Unfortunately I don't have the biggest closet which is probably a good thing, haha.

  13. Ah, the eternal purging of the closet! I am really working hard to get rid of things I know I'll never wear. Luckily, the local Dress for Success is doing one of their collections now. You know, I never had that time with my kids. It seems like they all of a sudden just grew up and moved on! When they were really little, we went to Acadia. We keep talking about a trip to New England this fall. I wonder if it will happen!

  14. Your photos brought back memories to me of our road trips up to Maine when we lived in NYC, and visiting the outlets with our then teenage children We loved visiting all of New England in October when the leaves were changing and there were many fall festivals. Have you ever been to Litchfield, Connecticut? It was also one of our favorite spots in fall as well as Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I do try to purge clothes at the change of seasons. My oldest granddaughter was staying with us a few days and asked to go to the thrift store where she bought many shirts and some books. I was so surprised how many people were shopping there, which made me feel good for all the donations I've made over the years

    1. I'm pretty sure we've only driven through Litchfield on our way west but not as an actual intentional place to visit. I tend to purge clothes the most during the change of seasons too and am trying to stick to a 1 in 1 out rule.. but I find that so hard to stick to.

    1. I didn't think they did; I remember googling it a few years ago and thought it said the company went out of business... but I found tons of flavors up in Maine (none of them expired either! LOL).

    2. Just Googled it and found this answer: "Clearly Canadian went out of production in 2009, but a movement hit the web in 2013 to get the drink back onto store shelves. By 2015, a crowdfunding campaign linked fans with their wish to bring the beverage back." So it seems like it worked!!
