2022 Disney/Universal Trip; Day #4 (Hollywood Studios and EPCOT)
Continuing on with our trip (I shared days 1-3 on Monday and Tuesday & they're linked at the bottom of the post), our 4th day of vacation and our third full park day was spent at Hollywood studios. Again we got up early for our extra magic 1/2 hour and along with everyone else went right to Star Wars at rope drop.
We had nearly 2 hours before the show but my foot hurt so bad; all the walking and walking in slippery wet flip flops was not helping. That pulled muscle that was doing so well healing just could not keep up with our pace. Evan and I sat down while the rest explored and got snacks. We had great views for the show and it was beautiful!
We rode both rides in the new Star Wars land pretty quickly and it was neat to see everything themed out so over the top.
From there we rode Toy Story Mania and then stopped for snacks and water. We decided to cross the park and ended up getting in line for lunch.
After eating we saw the Indiana Jones Stunt show and then split up.
My husband and mother in law went back to Star Wars Rise of the Resistance while Alec. Evan, and I rode Tower of Terror and Rockin' Rollercoaster. We elected to try the single rider line for the coaster and had nearly made it onto the ride when it was shut down. They gave us a Lightening Lane pass we could use for any one ride but we were bummed.
We crossed the park again and went on Star Tours then watched the Muppets 3d show. We had just sat down to rest and get some water after the show when we saw that the coaster had opened back up. Alec, Evan, and I crossed the park again and using our passes we rode in just minutes.
By then it was nearly 4 and we had ridden or watched everything we wanted to...but we had dining plans at 5:20 in the park. We elected to just hang out inside PizzeRizzo at a booth with some ice water. Good thing we did too as it stated thundering and pouring.
Luckily our dining reservations were right next door at Mama Melrose. It was delicious! The boys and I all ordered the chicken parm. and my husband had a delicious steak dinner (that he was kind enough to share a few bites of). We also split a flatbread pizza appetizer and enjoyed their freshly baked rolls too.
It was still raining by the time we'd finished dinner but it was only sprinkling. The buses were the only transportation running so we hopped on the EPCOT bus and joined the crowds streaming in for the closing show.
We rode in the ball then headed to the World Showcase to see Harmonious.
A great way to end the day!

Linking up with: On the Edge,
You had a full day! But it looks like a blast. We have some Star Wars lovers in the family and the only reason we would go back to Disney would be for Hollywood Studios and the Star Wars attractions there. Was the park very crowded? The dinner you had looks so good. What a fun day (minus your foot hurting...)!
ReplyDeleteWe wanted to see the Star Wars world and we hadn't been since Pandora at Animal Kingdom was finished either so those were two areas we were really excited to experience. I can't say the park was overly crowded; in fact I felt like this park was less crowded than the others (but it was also more towards mid-week so that might have been why).
DeleteI just love Disney World! I interned in the All-American college orchestra at Epcot and had the summer of my life. My kids loved the Star Wars theme at Hollywood Studios and nothing beats the fireworks at Epcot!

OH that sounds like so much fun!
DeleteThis looks incredible- I am sure the boys had a blast!
ReplyDeleteThey sure did! I didn't realize both of them were such fans of roller coasters either. We had a great time.
DeleteI love Rockin Roller Coaster. Glad you got to ride it. I also love the Muppets! I want to see that new Epcot show too!
ReplyDeleteThat new show was so neat with fountains, fireworks, lights, music... it was definitely worth waiting out the weather two nights in a row.
DeleteWasn't the show at the end of the night spectacular? We loved it so much! Y'all had such a full day! That's great that you were able to ride both Star Wars rides quickly. Next time you MUST ride Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway! That was one of my very favorite rides in all of Hollywood Studios! It was so unique!
ReplyDeleteI had the railway on my "must-see" list but my husband and kids didn't think so! It's okay though the wait times were incredibly long for that the whole entire day.
DeleteWow, they still have the Indiana Jones stunt show! We haven't been to Disney since 2010; I'm surprised they haven't replaced it with something else. And, we LOVED Mama Melrose! Your trip is bringing back such great memories :)
ReplyDeleteWe were surprised and excited to see that the stunt show was still there; my youngest son actually made us sit through it on our last trip (in 2009) and he bought a whole Indiana Jones dress up kit that trip that he used until he outgrew the hat and the whip disintegrated.
DeleteGreat pictures. I feel inspired to research a Disney trip.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWhat a fun day!
ReplyDeleteIt sure was.
DeleteLooks like so much fun and you always capture the best pictures!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! I actually took so many fewer photos this time; it was so weird not to have the boys posing with each ride and character.
DeleteI'm glad you got to see the night show even with your foot hurting Joanne. What a fun, fun time,
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Jodie
We were so happy we made the effort to see the show the second night; it was well worth it.
DeleteIt's been so long since we went to a park like that. Always loved it, especially the rollercoaster!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE a good rollercoaster! I honestly never did until I was an adult.
DeleteThank you for your weekend coffee share. Looks like a fun-filled day. I hope your foot is feeling much better.
ReplyDeleteYes after resting it that night my foot felt much better the rest of the week.
DeleteWow!! That was a BIG day (and evening) you did well to time it around the rain and to fit (almost) everything in - shame about missing out on the ride.
ReplyDeleteWe did very well! Years of navigating crowds at the parks helps us work around them pretty well.
DeleteHow fun! All the Star Wars stuff looks amazing. We used to live near Disneyland and go all the time, but that was before Star Wars Land was built.
ReplyDeleteWe hadn't been since all the new "lands" had been built either and it was so neat to see both the Star Wars and Pandora all done up so well.
DeleteWhat a fun day! My SIL loves Star Wars, but I don't think he's ever been there.
ReplyDeleteIt is so neat; we honestly just scratched the surface as they have all sorts of shops and food places to buy themed items too.
