My Cards from the Card Chain Challenge in February

This is my first time joining in with the Card Chain Challenge and I have already signed up to participate next month too!

I have been in a crafting slump lately but am slowly emerging it from it with some scrapbooking and cardmaking.  I decided a monthly challenge where I only had to make 1 card was perfect for easing back into bringing more creativity back into my life.

There are different challenge elements to pick from and I ended up incorporating the color palette option, the sketch option, & the theme option of hearts.

I sent my card to Robyn in Australia

I used the dark chocolate cardstock for my card base and cut the creamy vanilla cardstock just a 1/4" smaller. I then tore a small strip of bright pink to put down the side.

Using my Stampin Up hearts dies I cut three hearts out of a coordinating patterned paper I found in my scrap pile.  Once attached to the card front I used my pens and hand "stitched" a boarder around each heart.  I finished off the card with a few copper circle dimensionals and my sentiment.

I kept the same color scheme on the inside and carried over the ripped border too.

In return I received this card from Patricia in Texas

She sent all sort of other fun little bits in the envelope with the card that was such a fun and unexpected surprise!

  3. I just love all of the texture on these Joanne. I used to use leftover yarn on the cards I used to make. This almost makes me want to do it again,

  4. What fun, Joanne! I am just not a card person. I even hate to get cards because they make me feel guilty when I throw them away. And, your cards would make me feel really bad!!! But, they are gorgeous!

    1. Me too! I find that one card a month seems to manageable and I'm trying to find one weekend a month to scrapbook. So far that is working out really well for me.
