How I Did on My Winter Bucket & Reading Lists
With the first day of spring coming next week I thought I would take one last look back at how I did with my winter bucket list. Can you believe spring is nearly here?! I am so excited!! Even if that means it's time to fess up to how little I actually accomplished this year with my winter bucket list.
1. Have a family game night-- 1/2 a check! Even though we never managed a family game night we have been playing lots of games in the afternoons with my mother in law with most of the family playing so 1/2 a check it is.
2. Put together a puzzle or two-- Check!
The only puzzle I managed to put together! |
3. Go snowshoeing-- Check! We had lots of snow for plenty of snowshoeing! In fact we went three times in the span of a week.
4. Have a Pj/movie day-- Nope!
5. Read a book by the fire-- Check!
6. Drink homemade hot cocoa-- Nope! I don't think I had any hot cocoa at all this winter!
7. Check out a museum-- Nope!
8. Plan our summer vacation-- Check! We're headed to Tennessee with my sister and her two kids for a week to check out the Smoky Mountains and Dollywood.
9. Have a Valentine date night-- Check! My husband and I went out on Valentine's weekend to dinner and a movie. We saw Marry Me and ate at Texas Roadhouse.
10. Make homemade soup and fresh bread using two new recipes-- Check!
My Winter reading list was shared on the blog December 20th.
1. The children's blizzard-- Check!
2. Beartown -- Check!
3. Home With My Sisters-- Check!
4. The Grace Kelly Dress-- --Check!
5. Under the Northern Lights-- Check!
6. Rapid Falls -- Check? I started reading this book in February and it seemed a bit familiar to me-- turns out I had read it back in 2018 but for some reason my Kindle insists on listing it as unread. Still. Any idea how to mark them as read?
7. Drowning with Others-- Check!
8. Along the Broken Bay-- Check!
9. A Fire Sparkling-- Nope!
10. The Speed of Light-- Check!
Wow! Awesome job! Can't wait to read your spring bucket list!
ReplyDeleteYeah... I've really got to get a move on that one!
DeleteGood job! You can check as read on a kindle with the three dots on the image of the book - at least on mine!
ReplyDeleteIt took me forever but I did get the 3 dots to show up and I marked it as "read"-- thank you!!
DeleteYou did really well, especially with the reading. I hope you get to visit the museum soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteYou did a great job ticking things off!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteGreat job! That fresh bread looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt was delicious!
DeleteThat's a seriously large amount of books that you read. I am impressed. Also snowshoeing? That is so cool.
ReplyDeleteLOL; I read a lot. And I love snowshoeing.
DeleteThat was quite a lot of things ticked off your winter bucket list. Home made bread and soup sounds amazing. We love family games nights but haven't had one for a while. Lovely to have a vacation to look forward to. #MMBC
ReplyDeleteAren't family vacation the best?! I love having a trip on the horizon to look forward to.
DeleteSome of these books look so interesting! I love reading books by the fire. That is a wonderful place for reading and so cozy! Your bread and soup looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful, cozy spot for reading.
DeleteWe just went to our art museum last week because they started their docent tours back up. And I have to say, I almost never want to go again UNLESS we take a docent tour. I feel like you learn so much more and can appreciate what you are seeing with the docent's input.
ReplyDeleteFor other museums, we do try to sign up if they have tours too. I'm terrible at learning it on my own, I guess.
XOXO

I don't think we have ever taken a docent tour! We have done a few walking tours of local towns to learn their history but my guys tend to like to explore and read/ learn on their own so we mostly go that route.
DeleteCongratulations on your bucket list! I really need to do something like that because otherwise I do nothing!

Thank you!
DeleteYou did well! Very impressed with your reading list, especially. But how can it be (almost) spring already? Time flies.

Thank you! I both feel like time is flying by and somehow also feel like winter lasted forever this year.
DeleteWe definitely need more boardgames nights. I love Rummikub, but I'm the only one here, lol.
ReplyDeleteThat is one game that my boys willingly play... but I wonder if they'd be as eager to play with just me or only because "grandmother" (as my youngest son calls her) asks.
DeleteYou go girl! You’re reading list is amazing! We had intentions of playing more board games this winter and never did darn it.
ReplyDeleteI seem to be the only one that really enjoys them here.. but I grew up with a family that always played games!
DeleteWell done you with your lists. You did great, especially with your reading. x
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteYou did pretty good on your reading list!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I was so happy to cross so many off my Kindle list!
