Friday Favorites: Is Spring Really Here?

We had a fabulous week with some really beautiful weather.  I pulled out my flip flops twice!  I'm hesitant to pull out all the spring clothes though as I just know that spring weather is probably not here to stay just yet.  However today is supposed to reach into the 70's and I am loving it! We have plans to hike with friends and I have already packed my flip flops in the car for afterwards when we plan on having a picnic. I'll share all about it in next week's post.  But for now here are some of my favorites from this week.

It was a lovely sunny day on Friday so Evan and I met up with our friends for a little hike. This is such a short and easy hike but I really love the view!

For some reason my camera really bleached out the colors but the sky was a pretty pale blue

Despite waking up to a light dusting of snow, my husband and I headed out on long 2 hour hike Sunday afternoon.

After helping Ian with his taxes and finishing school with Evan on Monday, Evan and I decided to just take a short walk to the state park and back.

I loved this clump of snow that looked like a leaf

Tuesday after lunch we headed to hike at Old Furnace state park and while the normal route into our hiking trails was flooded we drove round to another parking area and hiked around the lake instead. We finished just in time to pick Alec up from school.

I decided to just paint my nails this week instead of using any Colorstreet wraps. I had forgotten just how many pretty colors I had. I settled on a  neutral light beige color.

Tuesday afternoon Alec drove around for nearly an hour; he is getting pretty good at driving!  So good that I had him start driving us home from school this week too.

Tuesday night after dinner my husband and I headed out on a RZR ride through the muddy trails.

It was warm enough this week to pull out some early spring fashions!  Lighter weight tops, my ripped jeans and even my flip flops.

It was so beautiful out on Wednesday that Evan and I ran through his schoolwork quickly and headed out hiking around Wallum Lake checking out a new to us trail-- the cedar swamp trail.  We ended up walking most of the coffeehouse loop trail too.

We had a beautiful sunrise one morning this week too and I just had to stop and get a quick picture.

How was your week?

  7. It certainly looks like spring is on its way! How wonderful for you! It's so special when it gets warmer after a long winter. The areas for your hikes look fabulous. I miss something like that where I live, but I can't complain. I have the sea, cliffs and green fields and that's lovely too.

  11. I always love your nature shots and these are no exception. There's really something lovely about pulling on lighter clothes for the first time in the season. We're doing the opposite, being thankful that the humidity appears to have gone (and with it the rain) and the mornings are finally getting a tad cooler. Beautiful. Have a lovely weekend.
