10 on the 10th: February 2022

I missed the first link up of the 10 on the 10th for January but wanted to make sure to join in with Leslie and Marsha for this month's 10 on the 10th.

 1. What was something you absolutely loved about 2021? Our family vacation was wonderful; we got to see my sister and aunt and enjoyed a bit of time by the beach. We actually traveled a lot and every single one of our trips was a favorite!

2. Do you have an interesting love story you'd like to share? Not really; I mean my husband and I met in grade school and began dating in high school which I know is pretty unusual but I can't say it's super interesting.

Junior semi-formal (I think)

3. What food do you love and must have on a regular basis? Fresh fruit if I'm trying to be healthy, chocolate and ice cream if I'm being totally honest.

4. What fashion "trend" do you love? I am really liking that wider leg and flare leg jeans are making a comeback.

5. Which season do you love most? Why is it your favorite? It's kind of a toss up between spring and fall... but right now I'd say spring.  I can't wait for warm weather but I don't like the intense heat of summer.  I love seeing all the trees budding and flowers blooming (though I could do without the allergies).

6. If you could be with a loved on who has passed, who would it be and what would you do? I would want to spend a day with my memere.  I miss her kisses-- she had this way of grabbing both your cheeks that was just so endearing.  I'd love to make a dish of her homemade mac and cheese with tomatoes and play a few card games.  We played cards a lot since she was literally our next door neighbor in the duplex I grew up in. I'd sleep over often and I just miss her.  She passed away when my oldest was pretty young so I didn't get to spend as much time with her as my other grandmother (whom I also miss and almost wrote about here too!).

7. What would you love most to accomplish in 2022? I want to get serious again about my weight loss and get down to my goal weight-- then find some way to stay there.

8. Which do you love most: shoes, handbags, belts, or coats?  It's a toss up between shoes and handbags (I actually don't own a single belt!  and even though I live in New England I rarely wear coats).

9. What love remains with you today? The love of my family and friends.

10. How do you show your love? What is your love language? I show my love in lots of ways and in return my love language also seems to shift according to my moods.  I think the only one that doesn't really work for me is words of affirmation... I don't do well with expressing or hearing words of love and gratitude.

  1. Same with me and the goal weight. I'm up way too much! But all the chocolate and ice cream is so tempting!

    1. Thank you! I really did have 3 wonderful grandmothers (my step father's mom was definitely another grandmother to me and also lived next door for quite some time!).

    1. Really I love all the seasons except for winter-- I love that first snowfall and I love how it looks but hate dealing with all the cold and ice and wet.

  6. This was SO fun to read and how special to live next to your grandma. I can't believe you don't own a single belt. I have a couple I could send you? LOL
BTW, I noticed that you are actually Joanna, and I've been calling you Joanne for the longest time. I'm SO sorry!! Obviously my attention to detail has taken a vacation.

    1. I just don't wear them; I used to buy them but gave up when I realized they were literally collecting dust.

    1. I should've said facial EXPRESSION. Lol. Boys don't particularly like formal dances and this picture captured it.

    2. I know; typical guy right?! He also hates having his picture taken so taking pictures before a dance... that was really torture. LOL

  9. Aw your story about your memere. It is so touching to read everyone's answers. How am I going to get through them all without crying?

And what a cute photo of you and your husband!

  10. It's so sweet to look back on old photos like this and reminisce about the past as you answer the prompts. Sorry for the loss of your grandmothers, but what nice memories you have of your memere! :)

Hope that you are having a nice week :) It's a big week here - first week of school for the kids after the summer holidays!

  11. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one who married the boy she dated in high school! Nigel was out of high school though! I love learning more about people when they answer these questions...and I agree with you about the chocolate...though I don't have a budding cake artist living with me!

    1. I was 16 and my husband was just a few months shy of turning 16 when we had our first official date right here on the very lake that we now live on; I remember him getting his license and his first truck.

    1. We have managed a family vacation every year so far; some years we go bigger than others but any little time away we can get is great.

  13. Here's to getting to goal weight in 2022 - I hear ya and I'm right there with you. Such a sweet photo of you and your grandmothers!!

  14. Need to research the word memere. Was she a grandmother? Or just a grandmother-like influence? Love the photo of you between her and your grandmother.

So glad you were able to visit family. The virus kept me away from my mom longer than I liked and my daughter and her babies right here in town.

Just picked up a pair of bell bottoms this weekend. YIKES. They look exactly - down to the pockets - like some I wore WAAAAY back when. Hope I don't look ridiculous in them.

You do eat some delicious looking fruit. I always zoom in to inspect your spring and summer yogurt breakfasts on the patio. Love those pictures of you reading, eating and enjoying the lake view.
