Encouraging Hearts and Home: January Enjoyment

January can feel like such a long month here in New England.  The weather is often cold, snowy, icy, or rainy and we feel like we're stuck inside for days on end.  Rather than complain my way through the month though I try to find ways to enjoy it.  Reading good books, focusing on some craft projects or puzzles, eating delicious and warm comfort foods, organizing the house or tackling small home repairs are all fun ways to help pass the time.

And Now, It's Time for This Week's Encouraging Hearts & Home Blog Hop!

Join your Encouraging Hearts & Home Co-Hosts each week for encouragement and support for your heart & your home. We hope to provide a space that builds each other up and lends a helping hand along the way. With all the negativity in the world, let's shine a positive light!

  2. In my neck of the woods, we're stuck inside the house for weeks or months, not days. And it's been a miserable month, with bone chilling temperatures. My weekly bible study has been cancelled twice this month already because of severe cold. Bring on spring!

    1. We haven't had a January this cold in awhile. Thankfully we do get a warmish (30 degree) day at least once a week and as long as the wind/ windchill doesn't make it unbearable I do force myself to get outside. I really do start to feel stir crazy after a bit.

    2. Oh that is a bummer; mud is no fun to deal with when it's ongoing.

  6. I agree with Kitty about how January is a quiet month to settle down. It's great to have hobbies like blogging and crafts to keep us busy. I hope you stay warm and cozy and enjoy the weekend.

    1. We had lots of cold spells during our summer too; I can remember huddling around the heater wearing multiple layers at our 4th of July picnic where we are usually in the lake cooling off!
