Photos of the Week: November 6th

I took almost all of these photos for this week's prompt in just one day!  I kept forgetting what the prompts were this week and the days just kept getting away from me.  Then finally on Thursday with camera in hand I was determined to get them all in.  I think I did pretty good too!

– vintage-- We used old vintage windows we got for free when we were building our shed.

– seasonal-- We love to visit local farm stands and orchards that are open seasonally.

– zigzag-- I really struggled with this one and finally settled on this photo of thorns I took while out hiking... they kind of zig zag...

– collect-- All the geese like to collect in one area of the pond before taking flight.

– your choice-- We had our first frost this week and while I don't like the cold weather, I love how everything looks coated in frost!

  1. Love the misty lake with the geese! And gorgeous frosty roses, but each photo is so pretty and great idea for the zig zag prompt!

  2. Oh that frost is so beautiful, and I love that old window! My husband just used all old windows we already had on-hand to build his new work shop. Reduce, reuse!

    1. We used the family sawmill to mill all our own boards from freshly cut trees too!

I love the windows and I love the sound of the trip to the local farm.
Brr! Looking at that frost makes me feel chilly! x

  4. You're right, the frost is so pretty! We almost never get frost here even in the middle of winter in Brisbane - it's very rare so I can't imagine how cold your winters get if you have it now in autumn!

You captured some great images for each of the themes! :)

Hope that you are having a good weekend :)

    1. Yep, we have had winters so cold that neighbors have driven their pick up trucks out onto the ice.. luckily it's not usually quite that cold but we definitely could go ice skating and ice fishing each year if we wanted to.

  6. Hi Joanne. What great images for all the prompts. I love your old windows, the geese and the rose frost particularly. Nice to see a bit of your local life in the farm and those thorns look vicious. We might get several frosts over winter, and I don't mind as it usually means a lovely day. Not to mention it is good for the garden.

  11. That picture of frost is amazing. So many tiny little details! We haven't had our first frost yet, but it got down to 37 last night so we're getting closer!
