Hiking Mt. Pemigewasset; New Hampshire Hike Day #2

On our second day of our New Hampshire weekend getaway, my husband and I headed to the Flume Gorge parking lot to pick up the trail head for Mt. Pemigewasset.  We heard it was a moderate trail with stunning views at the top.

We followed the bike trial out of the lot until we saw the trail head sign.

It was a relatively easy trail but I will admit that about 1/2 way up I found myself wishing we could just reach the summit already!  It was still a bit wet and slippery after all the rain during the night so it was slow going for us.

There is a bit of up and down and a few brooks to cross along the way.

The sun even made an appearance a time or two.

Once we saw the change in trees we knew we were getting closet to the top!

It was chilly and windy at the top but the view were pretty.  We felt like the hike hadn't been that hard to get suck pretty views.  But we could immediately tell that fall foliage in New Hampshire was on it's way out with so many bare trees already!

I was really taken with the way the sun shone on only part of the surrounding area.

Our pace changed completely by the time we reached the car as we were able to move much faster on the way down.

  11. Oh my word, the leaves!!!! So so gorgeous! I am so ready for the leaves to start changing here. They don't usually reach their peak here until mid-November so we have a little longer to wait! You got some beautiful pictures.
