Encouraging Hearts and Home: Happy Halloween!

With Halloween here in the United States this weekend I thought it only fitting that my features from last week's party all fit the Halloween theme.  We don't celebrate anymore now that my boys are older and no longer go trick or treating but we have turned it into a family movie night complete with snacks.  Do you celebrate Halloween at all?

And Now, It's Time for This Week's Encouraging Hearts & Home Blog Hop!

Join your Encouraging Hearts & Home Co-Hosts each week for encouragement and support for your heart & your home. We hope to provide a space that builds each other up and lends a helping hand along the way. With all the negativity in the world, let's shine a positive light!

  1. Joanne, thanks so much for featuring my spooky Halloween house! We won a little neighborhood contest hosted and judged by a third grader! It was too cute. He left a bag of goodies on our porch with a note that we had won his contest! Actually I have to find his Facebook page now. I forgot to thank him!

  2. We never celebrated Halloween in the UK when I was young. It was definitely an American thing. However, I just returned from a trip to the UK and it was everywhere! Not sure what changed over the years. Enjoy your movie night!

  6. These are such great Halloween features! Love Shelbee's giant webs! And love your cardigan!
I always combine my Halloween decorations with fall stuff (more fall than Halloween) but the few pieces of Halloween decorations I have I do love and had them for a long time. Looking forward to bringing them out each year :-)
    Thanks for the linkup!

    1. Thank you! I used to mix fall and Halloween decorations when the kids were younger but we slowly have done away with the Halloween decorations altogether.

  9. My husband and I live on a quiet street that doesn't see trick or treaters, and haven't really decided how to celebrate yet. One of those weird things you tend to do more with when you have kids, but I love to decorate with my little jack o'lanterns, and watch a little Hocus Pocus. Love the idea of turning it into family movie night. How fun!

    1. Yep, we live on a very quiet street too and in a few years (when the kids are out of the house) I can see us not doing anything at all for Halloween.
