How We Did With our Summer Bucket Lists

With summer winding down, it's time to take one last look at our summer bucket list and see how we did.  We had a wonderful summer filled with travel, family, friends, and fun!

Activities and memories:

1.  Go to the beach!- Check!

2. Visit my sister in North Carolina-- Check!

3. Go kayaking- Check!

4. Celebrate 4th of July with the family-- Check! Even though it was miserably cold and rainy we made the most of our 4th of July weekend with the family.

5. Take a day trip or overnight trip to celebrate my birthday (preferably to Maine or the Cape)- Check!  We went to Scarborough, Maine and had a fabulous time.

6. Get together with our friends and family and enjoy some mini parties/ cookouts-- Check!

7. Watch some fireworks somewhere-- Check! We watched some right from the comfort of our own home!

8.  Pick strawberries and blueberries-- Check!

9. Play cornhole-- Nope! We normally play during the 4th of July party but it rained this year (we don't have our own cornhole set to play at home)

10. Go four wheeling-- Check!

11. Go hiking--Check!

12. Make s'mores and sit by the fire--Nope but we did make s'mores bars so that's good enough for us.

13. Float in the pool or lake-- Check!

14.  Try paddle boarding-- Nope! I was hoping to try this in North Carolina with some of the rental places I had found online but it rained so much of the time we were there that we couldn't do much outside.

15. Enjoy a shopping/lunch date with my mom--Check! We had a great time shopping and a delicious lunch at Ruby Tuesdays.

Recipes/ food we want to try and/or make:

1. Cheese Danish-- Nope!

2. Make some yummy homemade ice cream-- Nope! But we did try lots of new homemade flavors and varieties on our vacation in North Carolina (like Boombalatti's and Celtic Creamery)

Celtic Creamery surfer's special

Boombalatti's cinnamon oatmeal cookie ice cream

3.Make homemade clam chowder like they used to serve at Rocky Point- Check!

4. Peach berry fruit salad-- Check?!  While I ended up using entire different fruit I did use the honey/lime dressing from this post to make my fruit salad for the 4th of July party this year so I'm counting it as good enough.

5.  Make strawberry shortcake, scones, or trifle-- Check!

6. Try making scallops-- Check!

7. Grilled romaine lettuce --Check!

8. Make our own yogurt pops-- Check!

9. Frozen Oreo Dessert --Check!

10. Try a new pasta or potato salad recipe-- Nope!

All in all I think we did really well with our summer bucket list!

Make sure you stop back in tomorrow and see what's on our fall bucket list!
